Queerview Television Guide (The Weekend of November 20, 2009)
While the TV schedule is slowing down in anticipation of Thanksgiving, there's still a good amount of gay TV to check out this weekend including the second part of Riley's story on Degrassi: The Next Generation, Margaret Cho visiting the panel of The Wanda Sykes Show and The 2009 American Music Awards.
And when The Amazing Race heads to the Czech Republic, how will Sam and Dan rub another team the wrong way?
Friday
The Wendy Williams Show (syndicated) Check local listings
Last time Wendy had Martha Wash on to perform "It's Raining Men" and today she has The Village People performing "YMCA". Will she be featuring the all the gay classics?
Degrassi: The Next Generation (Teen Nick) 8:00 PM EST
Riley's attempts to be straight sadly continue as he seeks out some ex-gay therapy. Maybe either Peter or Fiona can help him figure himself out? Or maybe we could get even more of Anya instead, like in too many Degrassi episodes.
The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (CBS) 12:35 AM EST
Neil Patrick Harris returns for another chat with Craig. Considering we're probably going to be facing NPH withdrawal soon, this might be a good time to stock up.
Saturday
The Graham Norton Show (BBC America) 10:00 PM EST
It's a comedy icon double-feature as Graham's guests this week include Dawn French and Michael Palin, as well as rocker Rod Stewart.
The Wanda Sykes Show (Fox) 11:00 PM EST
The conversation is bound to get lively this week as Margaret Cho, JB Smoove and Seth Green sit on the panel. Those four in a conversation together better be lively.
Cho, Green and Smoove
Sit Down, Shut Up (Fox) Midnight EST
Andrew has to turn the drama department around in the series (whew) finale, prompting him to write a musical about the school. I guess they're reminding us to be happy to see the series go by focusing on the most frustrating character.
Sunday
The 2009 American Music Awards (ABC) 8:00 PM EST
What could make up for a lack of Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters, at least for the gays who aren't award show fans? How about performances by Adam Lambert and Lady Gaga. Hm, considering those two performers tendency for, um, memorable acts, I wonder which one will have the Monday morning buzz.
The Amazing Race (CBS) 8:00 PM EST
The final four heads to the Czech Republic where they face whitewater rapids and serenade each other. Meanwhile, Team Gay gets on another team's bad side by stealing their taxi. Sigh, I already miss Gary and Matt's low-drama nature.
