A Look Back at Jon Stewart's Greatest Gay Moments
March 17, 1999
The Boy George Interview This clip dates back to the very beginning of Stewart’s tenure as Daily Show anchor, and features a segment that didn’t last, the “Beth Littleford Interview.” Whoever she is, she’s a scream, shot through a lens apparently smeared with Vaseline, with so many flowers clustered around her they block her face. She grills the Boy on his 80s hair and wardrobe (“When you look back at yourself in the 80s, do you cry?”), and on whether or not he’d be willing to, ummm… emulate Monica Lewinsky in the Oval Office with her blue dress on. Oh yes, he assures her. Absolutely.
Shout HallelujahFebruary 6, 2007 If not for right wing anti-gay religious and political leaders having sex in bathrooms and with prostitutes, The Daily Show might have to go off the air. The clip archive would certainly be a lot smaller. This one’s about the ex-gay conversion of evangelical leader Ted Haggard: “I have to start the show with some sad news. Sad news for the gays, as they’re referred to. Unfortunately, they’ve lost one of their own. This evening Ted Haggard, the evangelical preacher who, as you know, was caught doing meth and… dudes, the Denver Post is reporting that he is now ‘completely heterosexual.’” How did that happen? We can’t tell you here. You’ll have to find out for yourself. November 5, 2006 An earlier chapter in the Haggard saga: “Haggard can currently be seen in theatres in the documentary Jesus Camp. I have faith we have an unbelievably ironic clip from that.” And they do. Submitted by on Thu, 2007-10-25 11:51. |
