Gay TV Spring Preview

Gossip Girl

Who’s gay? To be determined.

When is it coming back? April 21 8 p.m. (CW)

For how long? 5 episodes

Why you should watch? Gossip Girl already includes a gay dad (who lives in Paris), but TVGuide.com’s Michael Ausiello recently revealed that when the show returns, someone will be stepping out of the closet. Will it be Dan (Penn Badgley), Nate (Chace Crawford), Chuck (Ed Westwick) or someone else? We know, but we can’t tell!

Greek

Who's gay? Calvin (Paul James), Heath (Zack Lively)

When is it coming back? Second season premiered March 24, Mondays, 8:00 p.m. (FOX Family)

For how long? Full season

Why you should watch: At the end of the first season, Calvin was accidentally outed to his frat and walked away from his brothers, and he and boyfriend Heath broke up. Don’t worry fans of Calth (or does Heavin sound better?), Heath will be hanging around and Greek creator Sean Smith told us there might be hope for the two. But for now, a new love interest will be introduced for Calvin. Max Greenfield (previously on Ugly Betty) will play a French teaching assistant that teaches Calvin a little more than French. And creator Smith promises us that a kiss is in the works!

Grey's Anatomy

Who's gay? Joe (Steven W. Bailey), Walter (Jack Yang), and Dr. George O'Malley is played by the openly gay T.R. Knight

When is it coming back? April 24, 9:00 p.m. (ABC)

For how long? 5 episodes

Why you should watch: Bartender Joe and his partner Walter fall into the barely there category of gay characters, but T.R. is always adorable. Plus, there's always gay fave Katherine Heigl as Izzie.

How I Met Your Mother

Who's gay? No regular gay characters, but Barney Stinson is played by the openly gay Neil Patrick Harris, and Wayne Brady has played Barney's gay brother James.

When is it coming back? New season premiered March 17, 8:30 p.m. (CBS)

For how long? 8 episodes

Why you should watch: NPH is brilliant as the skirt-chasing Barney, and we haven't seen the last of his brother James, either.
