News, Reviews & Commentary on Gay and Bisexual Men in Entertainment and the Media

Gay TV Spring Preview

House

Who’s gay? No one – yet!

When is it coming back? April 28, 9 p.m. (Fox)

For how long? 4 episodes

Why you should watch: If you weren’t already a fan of the homoeroticism going on between House (Hugh Laurie) and Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), then the recent comment by House’s executive producer David Shore should intrigue you. Shore said that his favorite moment in the last episode was when House realized that Wilson is all but dating him. Does that mean some same-sex love is in the air? Said Shore to Entertainment Weekly, “There’s no good way to answer that question without creating all sorts of speculation.” Aw, he’s no fun.

Men In Trees

Who's gay? Terri (Mario Cantone)

When is it coming back? It never stopped.

For how long? 8 episodes left

Why you should watch: Well, it features Mario Cantone in what has been a barely there role as Terri, the gay hairdresser. And it also briefly had Orlando Jones as George, Buzz's gay son and a love interest for Terri. Not much ever came of that, though, and as far as we know, there are no current plans to bring George back. Terri did recently donate a kidney to Cash so he’s gone from fixing hair to fixing failing organs. That’s progress, we guess.

My Name Is Earl

Who's gay? Kenny James (Gregg Binkley)

When is it coming back? April 3, 8:00 p.m. (NBC)

For how long? 8 episodes

Why you should watch: Gay Kenny is another “barely there,” but the show is consistently gay-friendly with episodes like the AfterElton.com Visibility Award-winning "The Gangs of Camden County."

Paradise Falls

Who's gay? Half the town. It would be easier to ask who isn't.

When is it coming back? April 11, (here!)

For how long? Full Season

Why you should watch: The third season of Paradise Falls promises more of here!'s patented camp fun. Set in a small Canadian town, the show is equal parts Northern Exposure and Desperate Housewives. The new season promises gay weddings gone awry at the local B&B, mysterious sightings in the woods, creepy cults, missing bodies, racy couples, love triangles - and for those interested in above-the-sheets politics, a local election filled with dirty tricks.

Scissor Sisters: Live at the O2 Aren

Who’s gay? Half the band!

When does it debut? April 24 8 p.m. ET/PT, (Logo [AfterElton.com’s parent company], also streaming on LOGOonline.com)

For how long? One night (with repeats)

Why you should watch: Few bands have been as unapologetically gay as Scissor Sisters and they put on a fantastic show to boot! Their European success hasn’t quite followed the band back home to the states, so show your support and tune in.
