The Best Gay TV Preview Ever! The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency
What is it about? This “reality” show is supposedly about former supermodel Janice Dickinson’s attempts to build her own modeling agency. It’s actually just an excuse to get attractive young people as naked (or near naked) as possible as often as possible. Not that we’re complaining.
Who’s gay? J.P Calderon returns
this season and is joined by Martin, who is not only gay, but also deaf, adding
another nice dimension to an already diverse show. Why should you watch? There is no denying this is truly a train wreck of a show with lots of faux-drama and self-obsessed people too pretty for their own good. That being said, it has always been gay-inclusive and gay-friendly with Janice being pro-gay herself. Past seasons have included J.P.’s decision to come out, his going out on a date, and did we mention the homoerotic photo shoots? This show features plenty of them and no doubt there will be more as Janice and her models move into a Beverly Hills house so Janice can…well, we’re not sure why she is doing it except to create more drama. Like we said, it’s a train wreck, but it’s definitely one that is hard to turn away from. TiVo priority: ![]()
Gavin & Stacey
Gavin (Matthew Horne) & Stacey (Joanna Page) What is it about? Despite only having ever met on the phone, Gavin and Stacey are two ordinary folks who fall deeply in love. But it isn’t easy as both Gavin and Stacey have quirky friends and family getting in their way. Who’s gay? Stacey's gay older brother Jason (Robert Wilfort) shows up towards the end of the season. Also, even though it’s never made clear, it’s a distinct possibility that Stacey’s Uncle Bryn (Rob Brydon) is gay. When does it air? Tuesdays at 8:40 PM on BBC America. Why should you watch? The first episode is relatively amusing and Uncle Bryn certainly reads as a fussy gay man. In the second season (the show’s first two seasons have already aired in the U.K.) it is revealed that Bryn once had another encounter with a man, though he refuses to discuss it with his family.

September 1st
What is it about? A group of wealthy teens living on Manhattan’s Upper East Side who follow every scoop of the secretive (and titular) Gossip Girl – and no we don’t mean Michael Ausiello.
The men of Gossip Girl
Who’s gay? Last season, teenager
Eric van der Woodsen (Connor Paolo) was revealed to be gay when he was dating
another boy. Also, Blair Waldorf’s father Harold (John Shea) is gay, although
he lives in Paris with his boyfriend. Why should you watch? There aren’t exactly a plethora of gay teens on network television and Gossip Girl’s creator and executive producer Josh Schwartz has certainly been gay-friendly in the past. Schwartz also told AfterElton.com we should expect to see more of Eric dealing with his sexuality. Keep in mind, however, that Eric is definitely a secondary character.
