Brothers & Sisters (4.04) "From France With Love" Recap
We open on Robert, shirtless, in bed with Kitty, who’s fully dressed, since they’re playing Scrabble. Nope, that’s not a euphemism. I’m sad to report that the tanned senator is in the beginning stages of what my aunt calls “old man chest” where it all starts to slide down a bit. Dear Rob, please keep your shirt on, and I’ll keep imagining you have the body you did in St. Elmo’s Fire. Which was also before makeup gave you the open heart surgery scar because that's not exactly hot either.
Ask Mariah, Rob - you don't let them shoot from just any angle. After Kitty spells “tumor” with Robert’s letters, they fight over him continuing his campaign as opposed to being her “chemo buddy” which sounds like something you could get arrested for. After she tells him her buddy is going to be chosen by random lottery from the queued members of her family, they knock over the Scrabble board and begin groping each other like they’re Justin and Rebecca … but without the cancer, old man chest and scars ... …who aren't pawing each other this week. Instead, we have Justin at the med school which he’s not qualified to be in and where he’s not passing with the the lab partner who hates him. And he’s trying to get an internship in a cancer program. Because taking on loads of responsibility and excelling is what he’s built his entire life on. He offers to work for free if the doctor in charge will let let him in. Despite his puppy dog eyes and young man's chest, she rightfully remains dubious, but promises to think about it as we cut to… … Justin showing up late to Gross Anatomy with Doogie Howser and Henry from Eureka as Justin gets fussed out by Doogie for being late. Justin grabs a scalpel and starts cutting up his cadaver like a nice T-bone while Doogie glares. We cut to a disappointingly pleasant phone conversation between Holly and Nora about wedding venues and the fact that they'll soon be inlaws. Nora thinks she can’t go looking because of Kitty’s chemo treatment, so she begs off just as Saul comes into Holly’s office. The two of them squabble about sullying the Ojai name with cheap wines as opposed to cheap affairs with married men…
Nora! She's starting chemo! Don't make her nauseous before the appointment. … before ending up where wine is often consumed in quantity, Nora’s kitchen. Kitty arrives to find an 18 course meal of all her favorites, since chemo makes people love food so much. As she preps to go to the doctor, Kitty tells Nora she picked Sarah for her chemo buddy. Nora pretends her heart isn’t broken by one of her unappreciative children as we cut yet again… Submitted by on Mon, 2009-10-19 11:56. |
