Five Reasons You Should be Watching ABC's "Flash Forward"

Here at AfterElton.com we're usually all about the gay — Torchwood, Brothers & Sisters, Adam Lambert. But just like all of you, gay isn't the only thing we are and I occasionlly make time to watch a show without any gay/bi men on it. I know, I know! What a concept!

Case in point, one of my favorite shows of the fall season is ABC's Flash Forward even though the gayest thing about it is the fact that Joseph Fiennes played gay in Running with Scissors

Shocking, I know. A scripted program on ABC without a 'mo. But even so uit has its charms. I hereby present five reasons you should be watching.

1) Stuff happens, questions get answered.

Unlike certain shows — yes, I'm talking to you Fringe — so far Flash Forward hasn't gone off on endless tangents having nothing to do with the show's overarching mystery. Yes, I know the Fringe is more like the X-Files with lots of stand alone eps, but I've become thoroughly annoyed at just how slowly Fringe dribbles out information about "The Pattern".

Meanwhile, each episode of Flash Forward has usually provided some actual information as to what happened to folks during the Flash Forward and how the FF happened. And when Agent Gough died in "The Gift" we learned that the visions of the future weren't set in stone. Several episodes ago we also learned that Lloyd Simcoe (Jack Davenport) and Simon Campos (Dominic Monaghan) had apparently caused the FF to happen.

Speaking of Dominic, that brings us to...

2) The Men of Flash Forward

Not to be shallow, but not only is FF one of the most diverse shows on TV, but it also provides a nice range of eye candy, and that's never a bad thing!

Joseph Fiennes, John Cho

Dominic Monaghan, Jack Davenport

Lee Thompson Young, Zachary Knighton

Courtney B. Vance, Peter Coyote
