Brothers & Sisters (4.10) "Nearlyweds" Recap

The Legend of Zelda, rare Hawaiian hurricane.
This week is an interesting mix of storylines that actually advance, but somehow I doubt you’ll care. Hang on, because despite all the movement, it can be summarized really, really quickly.
Justin is less than disappointed when Hurricane Zelda prompts the cancellation of his Hawaiian Wedding Spectacular. He is more than disappointed when Rebecca, high on maternal endorphins after an ultrasound, renames it Malibu Wedding Spectacular, and moves forward with their plans.
He chooses to express his fear of life at an AA meeting, forgetting his father-in-law to be is also an alcoholic, who hears everything, and is rightly angry. So much for safe spaces.
Judging by this pose during his fitting, Justin considers going gay to get out of the wedding.
Tommy shows up with his daughter Elizabeth for the wedding, but didn’t tell his ex-wife, prompting Kevin to try and meddle to keep him from being charged with kidnapping for taking her across state lines without permission, which prompts a Kevin/Tommy blowup, just like season three.
Kitty is avoiding her prognosis and hiding it all from Senator Pretty Boy who says so many sweet, romantic, touching things that he's clearly angling for a role in the next Nicholas Sparks movie.
Who is picking out Kitty's scarves? Because they need to be fired.
Now that the wedding is being held locally, Nora wants hot doctor Simon as her date, but he has to fly off to Portland to line up investors for his charitable yet money-making venture in Guatemala that is just perfect for liberal lefties who want to make a buck. He'd love to go to the wedding with Nora but unless she has a $100,000 lying around she could just hand over, he's got to think about the kiddies first!
Natch, Nora forks over the 100K -- kinda spendy for a date there, Nora! -- and naturally, the day of the wedding, Simon still has to be out of town. Hmmm.... They seem to want us to believe that Nora, fresh off of Holly losing all her money in a Ponzi scheme, would just sign a huge check over to Simon for an investment in Central America. And then not panic when he rushed out of town as soon as he has the check. Please tell me they’re not writing Sally Field this stupid.
Meanwhile, Justin finally freaks out and tells Rebecca how he’s feeling, which is what she asked for but not what she wanted.
People in relationships always ask for what they think they want.
