Brothers & Sisters Season Premiere Livechat

Kevin's got his wineglass - do you?

Join us for the season premiere of Brothers & Sisters, Sunday, September 27, at 7:45 pm EST. We encourage you to open a bottle of Walker Landing for the event, as the publicity stills looks like there's a giant family gathering that even includes grandma. You know that can't end well.

    This Show Needs New Writers

Brothers and Sisters has good actors but they need to hire some new writers. I felt like I was watching a plot outline tonight but then they forget to work on the character's lines.

And why have the subplot of Griffiths dating and then tell us she's off for Paris and won't be around?

And just because Scotty and Kevin are worried about adopting doesn't mean they can't have sex.

I always assumed that the entire purpose of their gay couple baby plot was to complete the total neutering of their relationship. I would love for the show to prove me wrong, but I seriously doubt it.

If that were the case, they would rush for the baby to enter the picture.  But the current plan is for the baby not to arrive until next season.

Of course, more bedroom scenes would be great, but I believe the writers when they say they wanted to explore what it meant to become a family for this particular couple.  And I certainly am not going to make a judgment based on only the season premiere.  Season premieres are only meant to introduce storylines, after all.

Because Rachel Griffiths was on maternity leave for the first 3 episodes, and they needed an explanation for her brief absence.

When she returns in 4.04, the vacation to France will make sense.

    Wait! Wait!!

I have a need (and a burning desire) to scroll up & see the S&M comment snicks made. *wink*

    The pictures were fun

A lot of the comments basically amounted to what's been talked about a million times (Kevin and Scotty don't have enough story, Kevin and Scotty aren't going to be sexual -- of course when they had an episode about their sex life, some said that was too stereotypical, so I guess that's not good either). I would like to see more with Kevin and Scotty but at this point I guess I will just try to enjoy what we have, since most shows don't even bother with that, it's just asexual supporting characters or bland teens. I do wish they weren't doing this baby story, baby stories have been done enough on this show.

I was planning on being here

I was planning on being here for this, but an hour before it started, I was taken by an overwhelming need to go to bed early (night job plays crazy havok with my weekend schedule.) Then I woke up to discover that it didn't record. I checked next weekend, and there is indeed a series recording set up for the show. All I can think is that my DVR has a poltergeist that's protecting me from myself.

So what does everyone think of the premier? Was it what you all expected it to be? I have heard many things about this premier and because I had to miss it I would like to know your thoughts. online casino

I thank the B&S writers for giving me the nudge...

...I needed to take it off my Tivo Season Pass.

The actors are wonderful, it's not them. It's the writing. I don't need to see another health scare on the show. I don't need to see them arguing over a little miscommunication. I don't need to see them have huge blowouts for the simple reason of having a huge blowout. I don't need to any of the couples have a fight, only to make up towards the end of the episode, leaving you wonder why they just didn't say that to begin with.

I'll read the AE recaps and catch the Kevin/Scotty stuff on YouTube.

    i am just annoyed that....

i am just annoyed that rebecca seems to be more of a main character than even kitty or robert. it's friggin ridiculous.

this show has no idea how to split 'attention time' to characters. they give rebecca/justin and robert/kitty the majority of screen time even though we have sarah, nora, kevin and scotty.

yeah, i will stick to youtube as well.

    Can I watch again?

I had no intention of watching this season because I hate "gaybe" storylines and I saw no need to inflict Kitty/Robert and Justin/Rebecca on myself to watch a story I knew I wouldn't like. Now a friend tells me this morning they decided against it. Is it worth watching next week?
