Is Bryan Batt Coming Back to "Mad Men?"

One of the more frustrating developments during last winter's TV season was the abrupt disappearance of Salvatore Romano (Bryan Batt) from Mad Men's ad agency after he refused to put out for a very important client.

After being fired, Sal simply disappeared never to be heard from or spoken of again. And that left more than a few gay fans disappointed as Sal was truly an usual character and Batt's performance as a closeted man trying to pass as straight moved many viewers.

But Sal just might be returning. While Mad Men's creator Matthew Weiner is notoriously secretive about upcoming plots, TV Guide's William Keck ran into Batt at the Emmy Awards and was suspicious because not only was Batt in an unusually good mood, he was also hanging out with his former Mad Men co-stars.

Writes Keck:

'A few months ago I got a call from the god of Mad Men [series creator Matthew Weiner],' Bryan told me. So what did Weiner say? "He told me Sal is not dead.' That's all Bryan would say on the subject (which makes it sound as if the much-missed actor has been brought back under the cone of silence).

Here is hoping this rumor turns out to be true. Any thoughts on how things might be different for poor Sal?
