Uncle Saul from "Brothers & Sisters" Gets a Heavenly New Love Interest. Guess Who?

Lucky Saul

E Online is reporting today that Stephen Collins is signing on to Brothers & Sisters for possibly a multi-episode arc in the upcoming season. He'll play a love interest for Uncle Saul.

All I can say is lucky Saul. Whatever character the handsome 62-year-old actor will be playing on B&S, he'll certainly be a catch.

Collins has an extensive list of credits. He scored his biggest film role as Commander Will Decker in the very first Star Trek movie, but he's far better known for his television work. In 1982 he played the lead in a short-lived TV knockoff of Raiders of the Lost Ark called Tales of the Gold Monkey. More recently he's played Addison's dad in a guest starring role on Private Practice, and he'll be a series regular on ABC's upcoming No Ordinary Family.

The stint on B&S is going to be a far cry from his most iconic role - that of Rev. Eric Camden on 7th Heaven, but we're really liking the casting.

Annie Camden may be smiling on the outside, but her eyes are shooting daggers

So, what do you think of this news? Will he stick around for awhile? Does Collins' turn as a love interest for Saul make any more sense than Michael Nouri, John Glover, or Enrico Colantoni, all of whom had brief stints playing opposite Rifkin on B&S?
