"Miraculous Year" in Need of a Miracle as HBO Drops Drama

Earlier this year I wrote about the HBO project Miraculous Year, a weekly drama centered around a genius Broadway composeer, as well as his family and friends. The show promised impressive star power including Frank Langella, Hope Davis, Eddie RedmayneLinus Roache and Patti LuPone.

The pilot was also incredibly gay with Norbert Leo Butz as the self-destructive composer, Lee Pace as his boyfriend, as well as a gay nephew and other assorted gay characters.

All in all, the drama not only sounded very promising, but would have been one of the gayest shows to ever air on U.S. television. Alas, it appears to not be happening now.

Deadline.com is reporting that HBO has stopped developing the show with the Deadline reporter saying "I hear that the appeal of the project was probably too narrow."
