Fortunately for us
though, Frankie finds the time to strip off those scrubs and focus on what’s
really important: making dinner while shirtless. Eventually, Frankie was sent
back to Iraq to finish out his service, but he was barely gone before his family
got horrible news: he’d been in an accident and his doctor’s hands had been
crushed. Ouch! Well, maybe that’ll prevent him from putting on any clothes
anytime soon. So for all those reasons and more, he is our SOAP STUD OF THE
WEEK!
QUESTION OF THE WEEK
RESULTS FROM LAST WEEK
Jo Weil pics
Ok, so where can I find larger versions of those new pics of Jo Weil?
As for NBC moving Southland to Friday nights in the fall, that doesn't bode well at all for its already diminished ratings. :(
Re: Jo Weil pics
I don't know where the originals came from unfortunately, but those two pictures were also posted in the Jo Weil thread in The Gays of Daytime Message Board. There are slightly larger versions of those 2 pictures here:

and 4 more (2 are much larger) pictures taken from the same shoot:

Hope this helps!
Thanks for the links!
I love those pictures. Jo is so photogenic!
Such a shame that VL is wasting the talents of Jo and Thore on being background scenery and doing BFF duties for other characters.
What a Shocker!
The final scene of last week's Y&R really shocked me. For real! I was screaming at the television screen LOL. I haven't been so surprised while watching a soap in such a long time. When I read a secret involving Cane would be revealed on his wedding day I had a hunch it would involve that mysterious phone call from like two years ago which I thought would end up a throw-away scene since the character of Cane took off and the then writers changed gears. What a surprise for the new writing team to not leave that dangling thread hanging. I was completely floored when they showed a new flashback scene to show the person on the other end to be who appeared to be Phillip III. I wasn't around for Phillip III's original run as I started watching a couple years afterwards but I recognized Thom Bierdz from the character's ghostly return a few years back and an interview with him in Soap Opera Digerst last year. There are so many questions to be answered and I can't wait to see how it all turns out. This revelation might make Cane interesting again. And kudos to Rafe to Rafe for standing up to TGVN (The Great Victor Newman). Rafe is no match for Victor speaking to him really impressed me. I too think Rafe will be the one to put together what Adam has been up to.
Once upon a time I died. And like my namesake I got better.
It was a great shocker!
I can't wait for the interview with Thom Bierdz! (By the way, thank you for sharing the interview with Gregory Michael--seems like a terrific guy.)
I wonder if it will be Rafe to figure out what Adam is doing; since Estella has been exonorated, Victor could at least rehire her at Newman Enterprises; and, for Victor, this leaves only two people who could be gaslighting Ashley: Ashley herself or Adam. Perhaps Victor could ask Rafe, subtly, without revealing his ultimate goal, to get closer to Adam to see if it's Adam doing it. Which could lead to everything so many of us are dreaming of: Adam and Rafe kissing and falling into the bed with their shirts off...!
I really am on pins and needles to find out who the big character reveal will be? Over at the soap forums, many are rooting for it to be Adam, but others are now saying it could be Bierdz's character (P3? A doppelganger?). We shall see....
Gaslighting....
I think the gaslighting storyline is probably one of the best stories on a show that really doesn't have any bad storylines (except for maybe the Winters family storyline, but it's not bad, just boring). And I've heard it's going to get even more dark and twisted from here so I can't wait to see what happens next.
As for Rafe and Adam, Adam is becoming so deliciously evil and Rafe is so sweet that if it were say, a guy and a girl I could see the show going in the direction of having Adam use and manipulate his smitten attorney, including sexually. It's the perfect setup. But would I as a viewer enjoy such a twist if the show went there and Adam did that to Rafe? Actually, I'd love it. It's classic soap. I wonder though if some would find it offensive though.
I agree...
I think this gaslighting story has been so well written and the beats are being timed so well. ATWT could certainly learn something from Y&R about pacing.
But anyway...Adam was kind of wasted under LML (and don't even get me started about killing off Hope to re-introduce adult Adam). But Maria Arena Bell gets the point. She's rooted this story in history and we see Adam's motivation. He's not a cartoon villain and, while he is doing horrible things, he's not being written into a corner with all of this. This is classic soap and I'm loving every minute of it.
And thanks for your comments about Rafe. I could so get behind a story where Adam uses Rafe. I tried to get that point across a few weeks back when Rafe was revealed and I got crusified for suggesting it. I think some might be offended, but to me it just proves a gay character can be inserted anywhere into this story and play the role that would traditionally be female. And that means we've come a long way.
Poor Rafe
Either Rafe is somehow involved in the gas lighting of Ashley, or he could get seriously hurt because Adam is all kinds of crazy, and just crazy HOT! I could see this play out where Rafe figures out what is going on, confronts Adam, and he tries to buy Rafe's silence by....well, use your imagination.
Rumors are the other gay is the returning Phillip 3 (or whoever he is). I'm really not sure how they will connect him to Rafe. Just hope this story kicks into gear before July!
BTW, Thanks for all that you do Anthony. I can't wait to read the new interview with Thom!
Twist was given away
I'm glad most viewers were surprised. Maria Bell basically gave it away to Carolyn Hinsey, I think, who spoiled the news in her writeup several days before the episode aired.
I'm not sure why she did that. I'm just waiting for Adam to start kicking puppies, that's all that is left for his current story.
Y&R, ATWT and FoQ
Well maybe because i've never watching before Y&R but i find difficult to enjoy the Rafe storyline, it's not as catchy of other gay storylines on soaps or maybe it's not that easy to follow because it's not center on Rafe. But i like they invested time in make a marginal character into a supporting one, and i like Rafe as a character, he is sweet and smart and if they paired him with a conflictive character could be great. I really want this work, because a succeded gay couple on a soap could be luck, but two it's a tendency
As for ATWT ratings, everybody who watch the show knows how to make it work with the excepcion of Jean Passanante. They only need to slowing down a bit, don't rushing the storylines will make better storylines without gaps like black holes, and better acting (because the characters don't have to interact as they were numb). It could be useful that the writers pay a visit to fan forums, because the fans seems to have a better idea of what to do with the characters than the writers, and give more screen time to popular characters and don't invest so much time in couples without any chemistry. And if all this fails they could hire Brian, the liveblogging is always worthy even when the episode sucks.
If Mason will appear in July, it seems that the boys survive to daddy dearest visit. It would be great if the writers use this storyline to solve all Noah's paternal issues, but this probably will be another attempt to kill poor luke (the guy is adorable but everybody wants to kill him). And about Mason, i think they hit the wrong gay, both are very loyal, but Luke can do some crazy things if he is angry, but Noah, come on, the guy spend no time to tell his boyfriend that Zac kissed him, and even with a different power dynamics (teacher-student) i think it'll be out of character make Noah a cheater. And maybe the trouble Mason will cause it's not related to do dirty things to Noah, the reject screenplay can make luke's ego damage, and motivation of conflict. And Zac was suposed to be a third in they relationship, and the only thing he want it was to tie the boys up, and not with the right intention. But if they really want to make a gay love triangle, they better spend some time making Mason likable (like gonzalo in the heart of the city), that could work a lot better than if they make him a gay villain with the only purpose to broke the gay supercouple
Física o química is doing well in the ratings, and Fer has a new love interest, but the guy (totally fer's type, cute face and shorter than him) gives a lot of mixed signals so it's impossible to know how this story will go on
Mason speculation
I'm thinking the Mason character could be more about him trying to force Noah to think for himself where his ''art'' (film) is concerned, with Luke feeling left-out (even jealous) that he should be Noah's ''muse.''
Also, if we assume Mason is gay and a somewhat older professional, I could see this eventually leading to another story where the boys actually work together to set him up with Brian. That could be kinda fun!
That's what i thought
The first time i read about him, and i find it more interesting than an affair (i can't see Noah cheating on Luke, it's totally out of character and it'll need to be very well written to work).
It's like Noah's finding his own path, and his fear to hurt luke's feelings. And Luke feeling rejected, and probably both solve the situation and centered in their careers. It could be a great storyline if they don't rush the things.
And it could be great add some new friend for Nuke, they are young and they need to have some fun from time to time, because life has more to offer than being shooted
Maybe Mason just likes to
Frankie!
Ugly Betty vs. Southland, etc.
Oh oh .. If I'm reading the upfront scheds correctly, it looks like these two shows are set to be opposite each other in the Friday, 9pm slot. I so agree with the ''curse of Friday'' notion. It's just not a TV night for me.
Thanks for all the news Anthony!
(P.S. Not to be nitpicky, but I think Eliza is actually Luke's cousin, not his niece ... wouldn't want to close any doors to a weird Ethan-Eliza relationship sometime in the future ... lol!)

Two Y&R-related interviews: Thom and Yani
Y&R is keeping the stories for Rafe and Thom's character very tightly held under wraps, but the actors have just been interviewed by the gay press.
