GOOL THEATER

As The World Turns

Umm… what happened? This storyline – or to be more specific, Luke – has taken a complete 180 degree turn and I’m dizzy from the sudden change. After weeks of pushing Noah off and resisting getting back together, combined with his growing feelings for Reid, Luke all of a sudden wants to get back with Noah, ignore what he shared with Reid, and pretend the last six months had never happened.

Now if we actually hadn’t seen Luke maturing and come to expect more in a relationship than what Noah had been giving, I could buy it. But this simply made no sense and was a clunky plot device that undermined the recent growth we'd seen from Luke. I suspect the idea behind this was to bring closure to Luke and Noah’s relationship and set up things to proceed between Luke and Reid. But the show's sloppy way of handling the transition made Luke seem like an idiot.

Three hot guys in Luke’s bedroom and nothing happens?
This show *still* doesn’t know it’s audience…

I also didn’t like Noah’s attitude in this whole thing. He is acting like the betrayed lover when, in fact, he and Luke were broken up during this entire situation. Luke, quite frankly, owes Noah nothing. Who he sees, kissed and/or chooses to sleep with is really none of Noah’s business. I found Noah’s attitude typical of the high-handed, judgmental persona that makes the character so terribly annoying.
