GOOL NEWSBEAT
The dish on Hollyoaks Ravi Roy and his shocking new storyline, Brothers & Sisters Luke Macfarlane goes the distance, soap stars bare all for a good cause, casting news on One Life To Live, The United States of Tara’s gay Marshall moonlights – and more!

Actor Stephen Uppal

As we’ve told you in previous editions of GOOL, Hollyoaks bisexual Ravi Roy, played by Stephen Uppal is headed for a huge storyline this summer when his character is diagnosed with a cerebral aneurysm, which means a single blow to the head could kill him.

You would think news like that would cause him to kick back and take stock of his life, but Ravi has never been the brightest bulb in the pack. Instead, he finds himself getting involved in the world of illegal bare-knuckle boxing. Yeah, not so much …

To be fair, Ravi sort of gets trapped into doing it by his duplicitous brother and is too proud to tell anyone the truth about his condition. Ravi goes through with the fight, but lucky for him, he not only survives, but wins and Ash is proud of his younger brother. According to actor Stephen Uppal, for Ravi, that makes the risk worth it.

Even though it could kill him, Ravi continues to get into fights …

'All his life, he's [Ravi] lived in his brother's shadow,' Uppal told Digital Spy. 'He's always been the black sheep of the family, while his brother's always been the favorite. All he's ever wanted is for his brother to love and respect him. He's never had that until this moment. Ravi knows that if he gets struck in the head that he could die.'

Unfortunately, this won’t be the last fight for Ravi as the storyline continues to unfold throughout the summer. Will one of them turn out to be fatal?
