SPECIAL COMMENT: THE LUKE/REID/NOAH SUNSET

Who is going to get a happy ending? Apparently, no one…

One of the biggest questions about As the World Turns as it comes to a close in a couple of months is who will Luke Snyder wind up with? Will it be long time, but currently estranged boyfriend Noah Mayer, or will it be current squeeze Dr. Reid Oliver? How is the show going to resolve the storyline and somehow try to satisfy the two very loud and vocal fanbases for each pairing?

Late last week, rumors began to circulate that Luke and Reid would have a summer romance, but it would be cut short by Reid’s sudden tragic death to take place in the first or second week of September. Luke would turn to Noah in his grief, and the show would end with the hint – or at least a hopeful note – that once Luke was past the loss of Reid, Luke and Noah would recapture their love and eventually reunite.

A kiss before dying?

I have been inundated with emails and private messages asking me if, in fact, these rumors are true. And as I have maintained from the beginning, I’m not going to confirm or deny the rumors. Quite frankly, I’m not in the position to do so. It’s up to the individual reader and viewer to decide what to believe. But I really can’t ignore the rumors and not address them because it’s what everybody is talking about.
