in the shower on AWZ was the HOTTEST thing i've seen on that show since i started following here and on YouTube. And Dennis sure isn't afraid to show off that sexy body of his, whether he's wearing gold lame' "Rocky Horror" shorts poolside or revealing a very nice bum as he climbed nude from said pool in earlier eps from the show. Now,if only Igor(Deniz,a.k.a Waffles. Hey,if you can call ATWT's Casey "Butters",then i want to play too.)would be so obliging.
There's at least one more soap overseas with soon to be gay characters. I don't know the name of the soap but the gay storyline has started being subtitled and I watch it on Dailymotion (just search for Lenny and Carsten). The two characters, not yet identifying as gay, that are featured in these clips are Lenny and Carsten and they appear to be in their late teens or early twenties. I've only seen a few of the recent clips and am still a bit lost about their backgrounds, but there has already been some staring deeply into each other's eyes, belt tugging and a kiss so they're definitely farther ahead than many American soaps. In typical soap fashion the kiss led to denials, blame and threats to keep quiet. From the spoilers I've read online, at least one of the characters will officially be coming out this month.
That soap is Gute Zeiten Schlechte Zeiten. The German version of Goede Tijden Slechte Tijden (Both translate to Good Times Bad Times). Both soaps were based on the Australian soap The Restless Years. First there was the Dutch version. They started with the same storylines and characters as the Australian version. Later Germany made their own version also using the same storylines and characters. After a while both the Dutch and German versions started writing their own storylines. This is why right now they're totally different.
We are working on going back to subtitle each episode. Translations
for each clip get posted nightly usually by 8pm EST unless that day's
episode doesn't involve Lenny or Carsten.
We're focused only on the episodes with Lenny and Carsten
I've been checking to see if GOOL has been posted or not since sunday and I'm glad i found it now <3. great one as always
about nuke, I just hope its not a sexual harassment story with Noah being the victim, we already had that with Luke and Brian and to be honest thats not what i want to see for Noah or Manson, I want to see Noah getting tempted and maybe having a fling with Mason, why can't Noah be attracted to an older man wthout having this older man turning into a creep or a stalker who harasses his students.
KISH, god I miss Kyle's pretty face more than i thought, brett's portrayals of Kyle made him one of the most adorable characters on Tv.. I'm glad to see Fish getting involved in other stories as well, it prevents people from getting bored with the story... I'm also very excited about the fall preview, I can't wait.
Syed and christian, interesting story, I think syed is cute and both actors have good chemistry so it will be interesting to see where that goes.
ollian, they are cute but i'm not invested in them and i dont follow them everyday so wake me up when they have their own story.
Here there's a scene from an Argentinean “Soap opera” (it’s not really a soap opera but I don’t know how to call it in English) from a couple of years ago called “El Tiempo no Para” (Time doesn’t stops) aired in prime time (which is between 10:00 pm and 12:00 pm here) in one of the most conservative channels in Argentina. I thinks Its almost as hot as the one on ATM (there’s no sound due to some copyright problems)
This is the
same scene (with no sound unfortunately do to copyright on “strip my mind” from
Red Hot Chili Peppers during the sex scene) the scene begins at 1:00 and there’s
some more cuddling time at 3:46. Enjoy ;)
Anthony...loved your blog once again this week. And I loved all the juicy spoilers and gossip regarding the future of so many SOAPS.
Eastenders is sounding good, and I may check out Doctors.
As for my beloved Olli and Christian...I love their storyline and will not stop watching until it's over, but I have to agree with you, Anthony...it's time for a main storyline for them. They continue to be supporting characters to all the others on the show, and with just a two or three day quickie of their own crises thrown in every few months. Plus, the involvement/supporting of them with the character of Rebecca...one of the worst actresses and disliked characters of the show has really pissed me off. What a waste of good acting talent from Jo and Thore. At least I have their Friday Vlog to look forward to.
Again...thanks for all your effort put into these weekly SOAP blogs. Great stuff!!
Y&R’s co-head writer Scott Hamner’s recent assertion in Soap Opera Digest that the show isn’t and never was planning on doing gay stories,
What an excellent example! He didn't say they weren't "doing gay stories," he said they weren't "telling A gay story." In the context of discussing the Adam/Rafe storyline, the singular vs plural is absolutely vital.
You should be more careful with your paraphrasing, ESPECIALLY in a story in which misquoting has already been cited.
I have to agree with you ----- OLTL - what can you say! Extremely well-written. When does the next Shameless debut? I hear that Mickey is going to become a "hooker"? Will he finally nail Carl?
ONE LIFE TO LIVE is just firing on all cylinders with Oliver and Kyle's story. Scott Evans did such a great job when the jig was up for Oliver and he realized that not only he could no longer use other people like Layla and Stacy but he also could not hurt Kyle and himself anymore just because he couldn't accept himself. David Fumero has also been excellent in this storyline: he's brought humor I didn't even know Cristian had and Tika Sumpter has just been amazing as the still-hurt-yet-supportive-of-Oliver Layla. I know folks are annoyed that Kyle isn't on, but I'm sure that will change. After all, what's been playing out in Llanview since the end of last week, which will continue this week and probably bleed into next week is STILL THE SAME DAY after Layla blasted Oliver, who then had a disastrous encounter at Rodi's with Kyle and topped the night off with Oliver getting drunk and sleeping with (and potentially impregnating) Stacy. We're just further along the day after when Oliver came home and had that terrific heart-to-heart with Cris and Layla. And I can't wait for more. I love Oliver having a job, even if he does point his gun funny.
Thank God there are other stories I'm loving on ATWT because I just don't know what to think about Nuke anymore. I loved this pairing two years ago, and I'm one of the few who really enjoyed the Brian storyline (just like Van Hansis, who said to the soap press that at the time, the Brian arc was his favorite to play.) So many inconsistencies popped out during the "reunion" between Luke and Noah when Noah and Mason returned from partying with the Law, as in Jude Law. Luke was all over the place, told the audience that Noah was the one who always insists that Luke share his feelings (thereby negating that now famous episode where Nuke had sex for the first time where it was clear as day that Luke told Noah that Noah was the one who was afraid to let his feelings come to the forefront and just let go), and Noah was clueless as to his boyfriend's state of mind yet he said he knew Luke better than anyone else. I'm confused. And I don't like where the Mason story seems to be heading. Anthony is absolutely right that the "Daddy Issue" card has been played one too many times for Nuke. Enough already. Why can't Noah just embark on a real affair with Mason when Luke is preoccupied?
And why are Syed and Christian in EAST ENDERS following Nuke's no-onscreen love scene rule when their German brethren are such better examples?!?
ALLES WAS ZÄHLT's love scenes in the shower, complete with tongue licking, were hot. But even better is the fact that the DeRo story is finally being steered in the right direction after everything that happened with DeVa. Danke, Herr Chroust!
VERBOTENE LIEBE's Ollian is one couple who I don't mind not being in constant sturm und drang. I like that they're comfortable and happy with each other. Not that I wouldn't welcome an earth shattering story for them, but I don't know what it is -- whether it's Jo Weil and Thore Schölermann's easygoing chemistry or my desire to see a not-so-neurotic gay couple onscreen -- but I'm loving Ollian still despite the lack of instability in the relationship.
Y&R is just tragic on the gay front and Maria Arena Bell really ought to have put a muzzle on her co-headwriter instead of blaming the soap press for allegedly misquoting Scott Hamner. Moreover, the proof is what we see onscreen or, rather, what we do not see onscreen. There are no gay storylines playing out on Y&R. And I really question the wisdom of Thom Bierdz's recent "apology" printed in SOAP OPERA DIGEST regarding his acting choices that turned off viewers. I'm still not over the fact that only Nikki Newman got to see some Adam Wilson/Rafe Torres action.
And when does FÍSICA O QUÍMICA start up again? I've missed those guys!
the new season of FOQ starts next week or the week after. It seems unclear. But it's soon!
I'm enjoying the hostage/drug story on OLTL. For a show I only started watching because of the gay story, I'm really enjoying the entire show.
I've written reams and reams about how bad ATWT is and how uninteresting and even annoying Luke and Noah have become as you well know. And I'll keep doing it until the show gets better. I'm praying the new writers can put this couple and the show back on track, but IMO, a story of sexual harassment, which is where this seems to be going, is not the way to do it. I know so many fans are thrilled that Noah won't even think of having an affair with his handsome professor, but they fail to realize it's repetative 'daddy issue' stories like these, not to mention avoiding giving them soapy stories of infidelity and betrayal and lust and passion that ALL other couples get, is one reason why they are in the state they are in.
As ALWAYS the blog just continues to get better. I wanted it to go on and on!
I have to disagree with you about the hostage/drug storyline. I am so bored by McBain. I like how Fish is in it but it just needs to end. I do, however, enjoy the girl playing Starr more because of this whole storyline. She has gotten way better over the months and can't wait to see how she grows to take on her parents especially. But the action scenes yesterday were just stupid. The Russian mafia dudes are so laugable. Todd was like "I've fallen and can't get up!"
The story I want to see more of is the obvious Dorian vs Vicki mayoral stand off! My partner - who is a victim of my OLTL watching lately - is loving this rivalry (which is long standing of course but new to him)! When Dorian said "And they say she's classy!" last week, we had to place that on permanent status on the DVR for future viewing! So tell me is Dorian going to run? It actually gives us a great pair, although it was laughable that they got the debate and all the literature up and ready in like a day for the campaign! And why the Orville Redenbacher dude yesterday?!
I am also really loving my own discovery of Florencia Lozano as "That Bitch!" Tea Delgado! As commented last week, OLTL has the beset of the best in female actresses it seems. Tea's scene with Nora yesterday was really well done because two great actors were there. Lozano was a little over the top in the louder scenes but she really brings it home with the quiet ones. Is there no stopping this female acting juggernaut of a show?! We all know she has a child, I wonder where he/she is! It was great to review the rerun on Labor Day of the Todd/Blair trial to get that part of the story. Maybe these better actresses can give the girl playing Rachel some acting lessons... she is awful.
I am missing the Kyle and Nick though. I know Nick will be brought into the mayors race but will Kyle come with him? I know we need to wait and see but its great to truly be excited about a story!
Lastly, where is Roxy?!!! We need our freak flag flying! Love to see her become buds with Nick too!
You have also made me a Greek fan. In fact you do look like Calvin's twin! When is your guest stint? ;-) Do you see a separate storyline for Grant coming up with other characters or is it too secret or too far down the line to know?
Maybe it's because I'm a new viewer (I've only been watching a couple of months), but I don't get the John McBain hate. I don't think much of the actor's portrayal of the character or his posturing, but the character really doesn't bother me. Maybe he will with time. If anything he needs an energy injection because he seems sort of 'there' in most scenes.
I have been enjoying the drug story, but the action scenes yesterday were over the top and ultra violent. Though the best moment for me was when the dealer smashed the vase over Todd's head. The reaction shot on Starr's face was classic.
And the mayoral race is going to be a big story in the next few months. I believe Dorian tosses her hat in the ring next week. So it should be good.
I'm glad you enjoying the column......
As for being Calvin's twin..... I'm about twice his age... but I'll take it.
I guess I'm alone in liking McBain. He's not one of my favorites from the show, and I don't really find him sexy, but I enjoy his stories. I suspect he's the guy on the show I'd most enjoy hanging out and drinking beer with IRL (if he could avoid having to go rogue for one evening.)
Lord knows if I needed some actual, serious help, and I had to ask one of the characters from this show, it would be him. He's the first to figure out the plot, the one hatching a plan while everyone else dithers about their feelings, and the one who manages to do his job even when whatever stupid psycho crap is going on in his personal life (and even does his job when he doesn't have his job!)
is amazing as Starr! Hard to believe that she has been on for just over a decade, starting when she 6 or 7.(even though her character is actually a couple of years younger than she is now Thank you,Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome" or S.O.R.A.S.)
She's grown from scheming little daddy's girl to beautiful teenage girl so quickly. I believe she also won,or was nominated for,the Younger Actress Daytime Emmy a couple of times.
I think her brother,Eddie,(Matthew)also has been Emmy nominated. If not,he sure will be next year.
After suffering through this terrible Nuke writing for the past two years, it seems evident to me that the crappiness of it is clearly intential by the creators. When watching the entire show yesterday, even though I don't care about any of the other s/l's at the moment (Lib's pregnancy, the Stenbeck fortune/murder) the writing is pretty good and the acting excellent. That Nuke is always so clunky, asexual, unclear in motivation, and barely there has to be intentionally done. Though I do think Van and Jake try to sell it, it's just impossible to make anything out of this drek.
It seems to me that Nuke was never intended to be anything but a quick flirtation for Luke in 2007 and be over in 13 weeks, but the couple caught fire with the fans, so show couldn't just end them for fear of incurring the fans' wrath. Instead they have been trying to destroy interest in them by whatever means necessary ever since. There is no other explanation as to why the rest of the show is so much better than Nuke has been on a consistent basis for the past two solid years.
I don't think so. (Well, some things, like the lack of kissing and such, yeah.) But until a month or so ago, the whole show was down in the doldrums. The new writer has really jazzed up the show, with Nuke being the main holdout.
My suspicion is that either they were already locked into this storyline with the hiring of Mason, or some pre-existing (but unfortunately inferior) writer/s has been jealously guarding "their" couple from interference from the new guy. If it's the former, the story will run out and something better can happen, if it's the latter, hopefully the clear difference in quality will force a change.
It could be something else, I suppose, but I really don't believe it was deliberate. If they didn't want to be writing Nuke, they could fire Noah today, then diminish Luke's role or turn him into a typical old-school asexual soap gay while they ride out his contract/wait for cancellation.
There has been plenty of cast turnover the last few years amongst the younger-age set, so they could easily have jettisoned this pair if they didn't want to write them without resorting to sabotage. Never resort to conspiracy theories with what can be chalked up to good, old-fashioned incompetance.
If they want they can write Noah off quite easily, and they could use Luke a lot more (conservatives usually are not offended with a gay character without love life). But they have no intention of that, Van and Jake are the poster boys of the show, and ATWT know how popular they are.
The show was a mess a couple of months ago, and yes, other storylines get better but no Nuke ones. But i think new writers want to invest in them, and the rumours are that the current storyline was in fact rewriten.
It wouldn't surprise me if they took the character off the board for a couple of weeks to try to get things back on track. In fact, it also wouldn't surprise me if yesterday's episode hid a metacommentary on exactly that. Having Phillip say something arrogant and obnoxious, then come back a few minutes later saying "I sounded like an ass there. Let me start over," may be the character's new mission statement.
NBC has gotten their grief for not having enough gay visibility on their shows. Well, Telemundo is actually showing some gay visibility (Telemundo is owned by NBC). Gay people in novelas was almost unheard of before, but Telemundo currently has two gay storylines! And one lesbian storyline in the works. Ufortunately these gay characters still suffer from "the barely there" syndrom. But at least SOME gay visibility is better than nothing.
There was a hot scene from Mas Sabe el Diablo. Though this scene was almost three weeks ago, and I haven't seen the characters together since then, which is a shame.
NRPP update, not much has happened.. SanDiego haven't been on for the last two episodes. The last episode they were in was all about the homophobia at school and Diego supporting Santiago after his mother ended up in a coma after a face lift gone bad.
I definitely think it would be great to cover these two soaps in GOOL too!
Niños Ricos, Pobres Padres has a great storyline going with Santi and Diego, and their whole storyline is up. All with an English translation, and some with subs too. I hope the whole storyline will get subbed eventually.
Mas Sabe el Diablo on the other hand, well.. The soap is 70+ episodes in, I only knew about this soap a couple of days ago. There's nobody uploading the storyline currently, so I guess it will be hard to cover it. Though someone definitely should upload the storyline. I think it's worth the watch, I mean, that kiss was pretty darn hot to be in a novela!
I've only watched the scenes of Ninos Ricos Pobres Padres posted here, but I have to say, although the writing is compelling, I hate the acting. The characters seem made of cardboard... Maybe the actors are a bit too butch (or are playing the characters in that way).
I have somewhere the link to all the scenes between Santiago and Diego, so I'll probably give them another chance before I make up my mind. At the moment, though, I'll take sexless bad-written Nuke over SanDiego any day (not that the actors are not cute, but the characters....)
Anyone knows where the telenovela is being produced? I don't know if the actors or the writers are Colombian, but they are way too respectful and distant to each other (which is a typical Colombian feature in the way they talk, which other Latinos try to push out of them as soon as we can). That might be the reason I feel so unrelated to them...
Yeah, because butch gays are soo unrealistic. Seriously?
Anyway, almost all Telemundo projects are produced out of Miami. It is worth notting that since Telemundo uses a mixture of actors from different countries in each telenovela, it goes out of its way to make them use a non descript spanish to get rid of any regional accent (you are not supposed to know you have a venezuelan leading man, a mexican leading woman and an argentinian villain), that accounts for some of the detached or rigid feeling one gets from most of their stuff.
In my personal experience, gay men are not butch towards the man they love.
And I know how actors really get rid of their regional accent when they, for example, dub an animated film for children. But, in telenovelas (although I have to admit I've never watched Telemundo) filmed for example in Miami and featuring actors from different countries, usually they keep their original accents (and some times they write the place of origin of the actor as the place of origin of the character). This might be outdated though, 'cause I haven't watch South American TV for the last 3 years.
Still, what I meant to say is that there is no feeling of intimacy between them. If they are trying to keep their accents out of the way, they are doing a lowsy job. They sound so unemotional. If you ask me, it's the network trying to write a latino macho gay, which is only the case when he is also closeted. And I'm not saying latino out gay men are bunch of sissies, but there is a difference between masculine and unemotional.
Last week a telenovela started in Mexico called Los Exitosos Pérez - The Succesfull Pérez - which is an argentinian refried that features a gay character played by José Ron.
I stumbled upon it and I cant tell you how many times I had groaned by the first five minutes, I had lost count, mexican writers have and idea of how a gay man acts and they will.not.let.it.go. The actor seems to be told to act affeminate (which is not bad) but in an extremely exagerated way that gives a weird vibe.
Mexico has the worst overall gay representation I have ever seen, which is why I was not surprised, what surprised me though is that Ron was cast in the role, since he is one the relatively new hotties they have been grooming to be a leading man one day, kudos to him for that, but the intention gets lost in the execution.
I know you say it's bad, but I will still check it out. Maybe it's not as bad as you think? lol.. I don't know, I'll have to watch it first. But I do love gay storylines, and I do love Spanish, so I guess it's worth to check it out!
Say what?!?!? A gay guy, and he's a hottie too? I'll definitely check it out.
You know, I admire Telemundo for what they do with these gay storylines on Niños Ricos, Pobres Padres and Mas Sabe el Diablo. I had never seen a gay kiss in a novela before, so I don't know if it's common. But I still think these gay storylines are kinda groundbreaking. The gay storyline in Mas Sabe is definitely different. I don't know much about it other than Christian fell for Horacio and he tried sleeping with a woman, but he couldn't go through with it. Later on he confessed to Horacio that he's gay. He is protrayed as a normal gay man, not stereotypical at all. He can't exactly come out either, since his brother is in the mafia. Horacio on the other hand, sometimes he comes across as REALLY stereotypical and kinda effiminate, other times he's not as much. So I think it's weird. The first time they fooled around and the first time they were in a gay bar, Horacio was kinda sterotypical, but when they had that date and they kissed he wasn't stereotypical AT ALL. I have no idea why, maybe it's the way he dresses. He has a very campy look.
Niños Ricos Pobres Padres is REALLY great. They have done almost everything right with this storyline, of course there's some flaws.. Like they hardly ever get screen time and everytime they fight they are suddenly best friends again the next time we see them! lol.. But other than that, it's great. It has shown gay bullying in school, which I think is really important too. They are not shown as stereotypical gays at all. They have their own issues to deal with besides being gay. they show Santiago and Diego as real teenagers. Like Santiago and his problems with his family, and his suicide thoughts. It's very interesting. And I generally like NRPP, even when there's no SanDiego. It's very dramatic, and over the top. They can have some great episodes and some crappy ones.. One episode last week was especially good, it had action, humor and of course drama. It was just how a soap is suppose to be!
I'm hooked!... Guess it's something like a guilty pleasure...lol!
Another thing I like about the Santi-Diego story is what's going on with the two mothers. Diego has a great relationship with his mom. That scene where he broke down crying in her lap was heart-wrenching. And he wasn't shown as some weak, effeminiate mama's boy - just a young man who needed his mother right then. Great scene. Very real. And I could see where the botched plastic surgery story involved Santi's mother could eventually play in unison to her son's story where they both need to learn to come to terms with self-acceptance (on different levels).
The soap is so bad it's laughable. I hope it's supposed to be a comedy? well.. It's still pretty bad. I don't know if I'll be able to suffer through the soap, but I'll try, just for Thomas. That guy is GORGEOUS!
And btw, why did they cut out the gay kiss? Is that "too controversial" still in Mexico? Telemundo aired a gay kiss, which I thought was a nice breakthrough. I understand Telemundo is mainly for the Hispanic market in USA, but still.. Can't believe they actually cut out the kiss on "The succesfull Pérez".
The Argentinean Version
is called “Los exitosos Pell$” (the Successful Pell$) and the gay character was
interpreted by Diego Ramos (see picture) who won an award for best supporting
actor in a comedy for his part, although the character is quite campy and needy
it was one of the favorites of the public. And in the gay community is said
that Diego Ramos won an award for representing himself and that he had his
entire life for practice (if you know what I mean), he used to be a huge leading
man in Argentinean soap operas
There was a
kiss and you can see it on this youtube video (see link). The entire sequence starts at
about 5:50 and it was how the first episode ended. It's in Spanish, but if you
understand the language, I think you can see it in its entirely in that youtube
account.
OMFG, that was so extremely funny. I gather the main character is trying to secretly replace a celebrity? That was so great!! I dfinitely will try to see the rest of it...
I see that the Christian/Syed "romance" (a romance that involves almost no kissing, rushed feelings, and little affection) is once again going to be about fear, violence, shame, and ugliness. The show is so terrified of actually telling a love story. I remember Barry and Colin, which was TWENTY YEARS AGO, and they were allowed to have some laughs and good times. Ugh.
I only catch the occasional episode of EE so I know I must miss bits of the storyline but I have literally not seen one second of this romance. If it wasn't for AfterElton I wouldn't know it was going on at all!
How big a storyline is this? Am I just unlucky with the episodes I tune in to? Every time I switch on it's all about Syed's mum getting pregnant.
EastEnders will play a storyline for a week or two, then they'll drop it for a week or so, sometimes more. Then they'll play it heavy for a few weeks and drop it again. It's really annoying. They haven't been playing Christian and Syed recently, but it picks up again heavy next week. So it's a prominent storyline. The show just has terrible pacing.
I am finding EE very frustrating to watch not because of Syed who, given his background, is understandably conflicted, but because Christian is so weak and needy. I mean, come on, Christian is hot! Why in the world would he put up with this "Yea, I'll occasionally screw you, but your a pervert and I'm a good Muslim straight guy and I'm gonna marry a chick" crap from Syed? And please don't say it's because he loves him. At a certain point, staying in a abusive relationship for "love" is just pathetic.
Since the spoilers indicate a return of an old lover for Christian who is out and wants him back, maybe their sl will be easier to watch. Make the closet case work to hold on to the relationship for once, instead of always being faithfully adored despite his emotional abuse!
its the only daytime soap left in the uk, i used to watch it when i stayed at home bunking off school.
i remeber they had a gay doctor in the original cast/surgery line up. i was gonna tell you his storyline but if you find it you might wanna get into it your self - if i can find it i'll leave a link.
i don't know how much power you guys have but you could ask the bbc they should have it on archive.
Doctors has been going a long long time so there have been quite a number of lineups!
They've had two gay Doctors previously, Ollie and Greg. Ollie left then Greg came in. Greg actually ended up getting married to a hot Brazillian guy called Rico. I'm pretty sure that must have been one of the first gay tv marriages (commitment ceremony/civil partnership/it's all the same but the name).
Waffles and his Bunny...
Another gay storyline overseas

Hot gay scene
Here there's a scene from an Argentinean “Soap opera” (it’s not really a soap opera but I don’t know how to call it in English) from a couple of years ago called “El Tiempo no Para” (Time doesn’t stops) aired in prime time (which is between 10:00 pm and 12:00 pm here) in one of the most conservative channels in Argentina. I thinks Its almost as hot as the one on ATM (there’s no sound due to some copyright problems)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGTzCcARnvA
Dear God in Heaven
I can't even list all the parts of my body that nearly exploded watching that. Oh, to view it with sound.
Same scene, but...
This is the same scene (with no sound unfortunately do to copyright on “strip my mind” from Red Hot Chili Peppers during the sex scene) the scene begins at 1:00 and there’s some more cuddling time at 3:46. Enjoy ;)

I think you meant Federico...
I think you meant Federico Amador, if that’s the case, then yes that’s his butt.
Here you can see him being hot. ;)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMinw9_w-Wcoooh and i love how only one

i voted for kyle of course <3
Anthony...loved your blog
Misquoting Scott
Speaking of Scott being misquoted:
You should be more careful with your paraphrasing, ESPECIALLY in a story in which misquoting has already been cited.
Uh....
Anthony...Thanks
As always love the blog ...
Thanks again for another excellent edition of GOOL!
Can't wait for next week's GOOL!
I Think...
the new season of FOQ starts next week or the week after.
OLTL and some Greek
Anthony -
As ALWAYS the blog just continues to get better.
Thanks again for a "don't miss it!" column!

"Being a bitch doesn't necessarily mean you're a bad person."
John McBain
For the "hate" of McBain and the love of Dorian
The actor playing McBain, Michael Easton, is just playing it like he is David Caruso without the corny sunglasses. It's weird!
I felt bad for poor Shaun yesterday. Here he was being dumped unknowingly by his GF Rachel in one scene and being shot twice in another!
Yeah for Dorian! I actually think should would be fun as mayor. Shake Vicki up a little and put her back in the storyline in a more serious way.
And age is just a number. With Halloween around the corner you have the perfect costume I think. A pair of boxers and there you go! ;-)

"Being a bitch doesn't necessarily mean you're a bad person."
McBain
Kirstin Alderson
is amazing as Starr!
After suffering through this
After suffering through this terrible Nuke writing for the past two years, it seems evident to me that the crappiness of it is clearly intential by the creators.
Nuke Deliberate?
I agree
If they want they can write Noah off quite easily, and they could use Luke a lot more (conservatives usually are not offended with a gay character without love life). But they have no intention of that, Van and Jake are the poster boys of the show, and ATWT know how popular they are.
The show was a mess a couple of months ago, and yes, other storylines get better but no Nuke ones. But i think new writers want to invest in them, and the rumours are that the current storyline was in fact rewriten.
Great job Anthony

NBC and Telemundo
You can watch the scene here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdEb8QR-LSY
NRPP update, not much has happened.. SanDiego haven't been on for the last two episodes. The last episode they were in was all about the homophobia at school and Diego supporting Santiago after his mother ended up in a coma after a face lift gone bad.
You can find the latest episode here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8kiJ9-8ce4
Harvey Milk: You gotta give 'em hope.
Hey Anthony!
Mas Sabe el Diablo and Niños Ricos Pobres Padres
Harvey Milk: You gotta give 'em hope.
Those Telenovelas...
That's not what you said last night...
Butch?
Yeah, because butch gays are soo unrealistic. Seriously?
Anyway, almost all Telemundo projects are produced out of Miami. It is worth notting that since Telemundo uses a mixture of actors from different countries in each telenovela, it goes out of its way to make them use a non descript spanish to get rid of any regional accent (you are not supposed to know you have a venezuelan leading man, a mexican leading woman and an argentinian villain), that accounts for some of the detached or rigid feeling one gets from most of their stuff.
Butch!

Elsewhere in the spanish speaking world
Last week a telenovela started in Mexico called Los Exitosos Pérez - The Succesfull Pérez - which is an argentinian refried that features a gay character played by José Ron.
Los Exitosos Pérez
Thanks for the tip, netogeno!
Harvey Milk: You gotta give 'em hope.
Totally agree about Niños Ricos Pobres Padres
Wow! that was bad!
Harvey Milk: You gotta give 'em hope.
Los exitosos Pell$
The Argentinean Version is called “Los exitosos Pell$” (the Successful Pell$) and the gay character was interpreted by Diego Ramos (see picture) who won an award for best supporting actor in a comedy for his part, although the character is quite campy and needy it was one of the favorites of the public. And in the gay community is said that Diego Ramos won an award for representing himself and that he had his entire life for practice (if you know what I mean), he used to be a huge leading man in Argentinean soap operas
That was interesting
That was interesting.. Thanks for the info;)
And yes. The Argentine guy is HOT. Most Argentine men are :) It would be great if he's gay.
I like Tomas in the Mexican version, he's not hot per se, just very cute.
Just one question.. did they cut out the gay kiss in the original, Argentine version? Or is Mexico just a very conservative country?
Harvey Milk: You gotta give 'em hope.
there was a kiss...
There was a kiss and you can see it on this youtube video (see link). The entire sequence starts at about 5:50 and it was how the first episode ended. It's in Spanish, but if you understand the language, I think you can see it in its entirely in that youtube account.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iJrOTryBWY&feature=related
Wow, thanks!
The original seems so much better than the crappy Mexican remake. The Mexican one is just awful. I can't believe they didn't even show the kiss!
Harvey Milk: You gotta give 'em hope.
The Pell$
OMFG, that was so extremely funny. I gather the main character is trying to secretly replace a celebrity? That was so great!! I dfinitely will try to see the rest of it...
That's not what you said last night...
When will EE ever GET BETTER???
Christian/Syed, really?
I only catch the occasional episode of EE so I know I must miss bits of the storyline but I have literally not seen one second of this romance. If it wasn't for AfterElton I wouldn't know it was going on at all!
How big a storyline is this? Am I just unlucky with the episodes I tune in to? Every time I switch on it's all about Syed's mum getting pregnant.
EE
I am finding EE very
I am finding EE very frustrating to watch not because of Syed who, given his background, is understandably conflicted, but because Christian is so weak and needy.
Make the closet case work to hold on to the relationship for once, instead of always being faithfully adored despite his emotional abuse!
i love doctors!!! :)
its the only daytime soap left in the uk, i used to watch it when i stayed at home bunking off school.
i remeber they had a gay doctor in the original cast/surgery line up. i was gonna tell you his storyline but if you find it you might wanna get into it your self - if i can find it i'll leave a link.
i don't know how much power you guys have but you could ask the bbc they should have it on archive.
Doctors has been going a
Doctors has been going a long long time so there have been quite a number of lineups!
