Gays of our Lives (November 10, 2009)
Welcome to another edition of Gays of Our Lives. In GOOL THEATER this week all three of the U.S. soaps (As the World Turns, One Life to Live and The Young and the Restless) have clips. Find out which one had me in tears, which one disappointed me and which one put me in a blind rage.
Plus, Simon faces his doppelganger on Doctors, Fer finds out that sleeping with his boyfriend isn’t as fun as he expected on Física o’ Química, and the battle between Lucas and Dex continues on the Dutch version of Good Times, Bad Times.
In GOOL SCOOPS AND SPOILERS, Luke and Mason go to war over Noah, but it’s Noah who suffers deadly consequences on As the World Turns, things get steamy between Kyle and Oliver on One Life to Live, Ugly Betty battles with her own sister for the new stud on the block and Riley is attracted to the new lifeguard on Degrassi: The Next Generation – but he doesn’t like it.
I’ve also got GOOL SNEAK PEEKS for Melrose Place, Glee, the German version of Good Times, Bad Times and Forbidden Love.
Finally, in GOOL NEWSBEAT, just how do As the World Turns’ lovebirds Luke and Noah keep the home fires burning? It’s not a lot of sex, that’s for sure. But Jake Silbermann, who plays Noah, has some insight on why the relationship works.
Also, actor Jo Weil (Olli, Forbidden Love) discusses balancing work and a personal life, casting news for Big Love and behind the scenes dish for Southland and Desperate Housewives. Plus, who does a better job with gays on television? The U.S. or the U.K.? We’ve got a surprising report.
All this – and more!

QUESTION OF THE WEEK
GOOL THEATER – Lots of great clips this week, and even the worst of the lot has charms to offer. As always I share my thoughts. Please don’t hesitate to share yours at the end of the column.
Física O Química
FOQ is fun and delightful as always, and
I never get over how sweet and sexy Fer and David are as a couple. The scene
where David slept over and just assumed he and Fer would be having sex was
adorable, and Fer’s handling of the situation just shows how different these
two boys are, yet they mesh as a pair.
I wondered how long Fer would hold on to the secret that David’s father was having an affair, and I liked that he finally dropped that particular piece of information. But as we see in the promos, it’s not going to work out so well for Fer. Oh well!
David is shocked to learn that sometimes in
bed you just sleep….
*THANKS TO FOQFAN FOR THE CLIPS!
