Gays of our Lives (November 24, 2008)Jake Hendriks (ex-Kieron, Hollyoaks) will be appearing in Jack and The Beanstalk at The Hazlitt Arts Centre in Maidstone, Kent from November 29th, 2008 - January 4th, 2009. Sorry, but he probably won’t be playing gay.
"Wish I'd had this axe when Niall came at me with that can of beer!" Antony Cotton (Sean Tully, Coronation Street) signed a new deal with the long running soap. Producers have promised an exciting new story for the gay barman. Let’s hope it’s better than his last ‘exciting’ story where he fathered a child with his best friend and made plans to help raise it, only to have her fall in love with someone else and run off with the child to keep Sean from ‘interfering’ in the baby’s upbringing. Yuck.
"Please
God, let this new storyline be with babes, not babies …" Add another ‘mo to the ranks of gay British television characters! Toby De Silva, played by Matthew Needham, will be revealed as gay after he’s found in bed with Ben, a colleague, in this week’s episode of the long running BBC1 medical drama Casualty. This is only the start of an extended arc for Toby and Ben that will grow predictably messy in the coming weeks. We’ll have more on this storyline as well as a review of the coming out episode in next week’s GOOL.
Quips and Quotes: “Kris is then given this lease of life where he thinks life is too short. He returns to the village with a vengeance and makes up for the severe lack of sex. He embarks on this huge love triangle - one's a guy and one's a girl... He's trying to find someone to love him but, of course, he goes about it in completely the wrong way." -- Gerard McCarthy (Kris, Hollyoaks) on what’s next for his character after the events of the late night Hollyoaks spinoff.
Gerard McCarthy "It was a really interesting part to play and I did some great research, too. Narcolepsy isn't a condition you really hear about, either. Casualty's a great place to work and I had a blast filming."
