Gays of our Lives (November 24, 2009)

Welcome to another edition of Gays of Our Lives. This week we start with GOOL THEATER where Luke and Noah’s new story arc begins. And if you think Oakdale’s cutest gay teens have had some strange storylines before … this one takes the cake. Plus, Fer faces losing his boyfriend when David might have to move away in Física o’ Química, Simon Doctors a boy being bullied and helps to console a gay man who might lose custody of his adopted daughter. And Riley looks to be de-gayed on Degrassi: The Next Generation.

GOOL SCOOPS AND SPOILERS has the dish on Emmerdale as bad boy Aaron Livesy acts out, Luke gets a really bad idea on As the World Turns (what else is new?), Kyle and Oliver celebrate their first Thanksgiving together on One Life to Live and the Walkers go to Hawaii for Justin and Rebecca’s wedding on Brothers & Sisters. Plus, will a tragic death get in the way of Roman’s quest for gold? Find out on All That Matters.

And in GOOL NEWSBEAT, Degrassi’s Riley hints at what is ahead for his gay jock character, Ferry Doedens, who plays Lucas on the Dutch version of Good Times, Bad Times, talks about the price of fame and The Young and the Restless Michael Muhney (Adam) gives his thoughts on his character’s gay turn. Plus, the new showrunner at EastEnders looks to make some surprising changes and fresh dish on what’s going on in front of the camera and behind the scenes at One Life to Live.

All this – and more!

QUESTION OF THE WEEK

GOOL THEATER – Plenty of clips this week for your viewing pleasure. I share my thoughts and as always, I invite you to share yours at the end of the column.

Good Times, Bad Times (German)

Wow, what a jerk. I guess I’m not surprised by the half truths that Lenny told his girlfriend, but he's descending into increasingly unpalatable behavior. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — the show is walking a fine line with Lenny as the character becomes more and more unlikeable.

We should sympathize and relate to his struggle, not wish he would go away and let Carsten find someone worthy of his feelings. That said, there’s no denying that the two men have terrific and combustible chemistry and the story does remain compelling. I just don’t want them to go too far in terms of Lenny’s behavior.

Lenny and Carsten are going to have some really hot sex…
if they don’t kill each other first…
