News, Reviews & Commentary on Gay and Bisexual Men in Entertainment and the Media

Gays of our Lives (December 1, 2008)

Desperate Housewives - Bree (Marcia Cross) is anxious to prove to Andrew (Shawn Pyfrom) that she accepts him for the cute little ‘mo that he is. Naturally, her attempts at persuasion don’t go well. But really, would you expect anything less? This is a woman who tried to pimp out her son in order to get her house redone. Couldn’t she just join PFLAG and be done with it?

"Let’s hope this new boyfriend gets here soon. I haven’t gotten any
since I slept with my mother’s fiancé …
and you can only rest on those laurels for so long."

As the World Turns - Noah and…. Jade?

Jake Silbermann and Davida Williams (Jade)

Calm down Nuke fans, Noah’s not going back to his hetero ways. But there are rumors swirling, and I emphasize, these are rumors that at some point in the Luke/Brian imbroglio, Luke will turn up missing and Jade (played by newcomer Davida Williams) and Noah will join forces to find him. I only hope that Noah can get his shift at Java covered. One no show and he’s outta there!

Física o Química - The second season of the Spanish series, which features gay teen Fer, is coming to a close in just a couple of weeks. The show is quite popular in its native country and while it is likely it will return in some form (either as a weekly series, a mini-series or several TV movies), it hasn’t been decided when. The question now is how will Fer’s story wrap up? Will Julio finally realize Fer is his true love? I figure if I say it enough, it’ll happen!

Could AfterElton.com soon have two daytime soaps to liveblog?

The Bold and the Beautiful (airing right before As The World Turns in most of the country) revolves around the fashion industry and has never had an ongoing gay character. But that could all change with the casting of Rex, who is described as “a flamboyant designer with a flair for style and fun.” Could that possibly be code for gay? Let’s hope so. That trashy Brooke Logan Forrester Forrester Chambers Forrester Jones Forrester Forrester Marone (Katherine Kelly Lang) needs Brian’s liveblog treatment.
