News, Reviews & Commentary on Gay and Bisexual Men in Entertainment and the Media

Gays of our Lives (December 15, 2008)

Forbidden Love - Christian (Thore Schölermann) is concerned when Gregor (Andreas Jancke) becomes more and more obsessed with making the scrap heap of a helicopter he found flyable again, even if it means taking out a second mortgage on No Limits to pay for it. And despite his best efforts, Christian is unable to talk Gregor out of paying so much money for the helicopter. Meanwhile, the Mann boys meet a mysterious woman who turns out to be their cousin Stella (Anna Wis), who has come for a visit.

Can someone come up with a plausible reason why
Olli’s not back yet? This is ridiculous!

EastEnders – With Christian’s (John Partridge) help, Roxy (Rita Simons) finally gets her hands on the results of her baby’s paternity test. But just as she looks at them and finds out who the real papa of little Amy is, she is interrupted and she has to hide the damning papers in a box of chips. When she later goes back to retrieve the papers, the box is gone! D’oh! Roxy panics and once again she calls Christian to come to her rescue.

Brothers & Sisters - A Walker in the big house? Rumor has it that as the new year begins, one of the Walker siblings is going to be charged with felony embezzlement and face a stint in the slammer. Let’s hope it’s not Kevin (Matthew Rhys), giving new meaning to the term ‘jailhouse lawyer’. Odds are that it’s Tommy (Balthazar Getty) who may have gone too far in his efforts to oust Holly from the family business.

Scotty: Honey, I hope it’s not you going to jail.
Kevin: If it were, you’d wait for me to get out, wouldn’t you?

Scotty: Define wait.

Desperate Housewives - Umm . . . what? The show doesn’t treat their gay characters badly enough so now this? When the show returns in January, Susan (Teri Hatcher) and Lee (Kevin Rahm) go clubbing. Rumor has it that things get steamy between Susan and Lee … and they have sex. However, Susan won’t remember it later (and you’d think it would be Lee who’d want to forget). Meanwhile, it’s a clash of the titans when Andrew and Alex’s mothers finally meet. Naturally, the divas won’t get along. And down the line, there’s trouble for Andrew and Alex when Bree’s career takes off, meaning Andrew’s will too. And that will create problems for the engaged gay couple.
