"The Amazing Race" (15.11) Recap: "It Starts With An 'F', That's All I'm Saying"

Is it really so difficult to use the letters "A", "F", "N", "R", and "Z" to form the word "FRANZ"?

That's what I kept thinking during this episode's game-changing Roadblock. The racers are instructed to make their way to the Ekotechnicke Museum in Prague and complete one of the most irritating challenges of the season.

Inside the museum are hundreds of ringing phones. Not cell phones, but the old-fashioned black rotary-dial phones, which are all ringing at the same time. The racers have to answer each phone and hope a voice on the other end gives them a clue, which in this case is a letter for a word they have to form.

Meghan is the first to arrive, and makes short work of the phones and the word, which when unscrambled is Franz, as in Kafka.

Sam and Dan arrive next, and when Dan decides to take the challenge, his brother says "I know Dan's going to get so frustrated, and he's going to be all obnoxious and get so flustered, and I'm kind of worried about him".

Yeah ... thanks Kreskin, but it doesn't take a psychic to come up with that vision.

Dan makes it through the phone portion, but is absolutely stumped trying to put the five letters together. Big Easy joins him, and they make a temporary alliance to try and come up with the word.

Here's where things get ... interesting.

Eventually Dan comes up with the right word, but refuses to share it with Big Easy. He leaves, and all he says is "it starts with an 'F'". Big Easy can't believe Dan would betray him, but c'mon, all's fair. Or is it?

Little did they know that Dan's decision not to help Big Easy would completely change the race.
