“Brothers & Sisters” Episode 121 Recap: "Grapes of Wrath"Cut to the outdoor courtyard. Nora is having her morning coffee and Professor Mark joins her. He apologizes again for the moonlight walk with Holly. Nora: I should’ve known what I was getting into, dating you. A person always tells you exactly who they are from the very first moment you meet them. When I first met you, you were sleeping with an undergrad. And when we first met you, you were Gidget. Oh gosh, Nora’s right. First impressions are always the most accurate. Nora goes on to say the weekend was important because she’s finally learning to trust her instincts. Mark: Nora, I realize that was a break up speech but, uh, how am I gonna get home? Brief aside to mention how glad I am that this looks like the end of the road for Professor Mark. Now what is the show going to do about Nora’s budding literary career? Let’s hope she abandons it along with Mark. Maybe she can take up scrapbooking. Even better, why don't they give Nora an "assassin with amnesia" plotline like Geena Davis had in The Long Kiss Goodnight? Margot Kidder could be her Samuel L. Jackson-esque sidekick, and they could jump out of exploding buildings and stuff. Cut to the kitchen. Tommy is saying goodbye to investors and accepting checks. The wine-tasting event was a great success – the food-fight notwithstanding. Investor: You gotta be crazy to make good wine. And clearly you guys are gonna do just fine. The investor leaves and Julia hugs Tommy. Then, quelle surprise, she doubles over in pain. Tommy: Honey, are you all right? ![]() Tommy runs to get Justin. Apparently, he thinks Tommy's army field medic experience will come in handy because giving birth happens a lot on the battlefield. Gee, I'd love it if Justin broke out his Butterfly McQueen impression: "I don't know nothin' about birthin' babies, Miss Scarlett!" Wishful thinking on my part. Justin's contribution is to hold Julia's hand and tell Tommy to dial 911.
Will the twins survive? Perhaps more importantly, who's gonna clean up the kitchen after the food fight and Julia's broken water? Tune in next week to find out. Brothers & Sisters airs Sundays at 10:00pm on ABC Submitted by on Tue, 2007-05-08 12:13. |

Joe
Thank you. I have been pissed at their treatment of Joe for a while now, and their behavior says it all. They'd take in a stranger just because Walker blood is flowing in her veins but they won't give an in-law for 10 years a chance to even just explain.
Thank you for calling Justin on his bullshit. Little cheating ex-junkie, who disappointed every one of his family is now acting like the moral center of that clan. Excuse me? T
he doom-and-gloom surrounding Rebecca...I speculated on this in another forum. She must be bi-polar or something. Seriously, she's seriously fucked up which will make us like her despite her evilness.

More repetitive and cartoonish each week
I Was A Bit Surprised....
... by the episode's outcome. I assumed that once Tommy and Julia decided to not go through with the operation, William would miraculously survive. I didn't think the show would have the baby die.
Frankly, there's a part of me that's troubled by the fact that they let it happen (though it is their right and their decision). I also can't believe that none of the Walker family had diverse or differing opinions about it (especially Kevin and/or Justin) given that they have opinions on everything. Maybe it'll come out later.
In other stories, I had a real problem with the Senator deciding that Justin needed to see how important what he had to do is by dragging him to that VA hospital. It seemed way out of line to me, especially since they hardly know each other. How Justin feels or does not feel about having to go to Iraq is none of his business. I know the point was to show Kevin that the Senator really, really cares about the troops, but it only showed me how pushy and presumptuous the Senator is. If I were Kevin, I still wouldn't have helped the Senator. Because it doesn't change the fact that he's a liar. And he's using that lie to get into office.
A very nice scene dealing with Joe moving out and their having to tell the kids. The girl who plays Paige was terrific.
Looking forward to next week. The clip of Nora and Justin's scene showed looks like it'll be a heart breaker.
