“Brothers & Sisters” Episode 123 Recap: "Matriarchy"

Cut to downstairs where Sarah gives a heartfelt speech about families. Then we’re supposed to hear from the Senator’s side of the family. McAllister says he’s asked his brother to lead the guests in a prayer.

Whoa nelly! Turns out Jason is a Methodist minister. Well that’s a bit of a shocker given his pantry shenanigans.

It’s certainly a shock to Kevin. He grabs Kitty by the wrist while everyone has their heads bowed and pulls her into the kitchen. He tells her he just sucked face with Jason and its all her fault for not telling him Jason was a minister.

Kevin: You are the worst “communications” director ever!

You know, I’ve been thinking that for weeks now. Nice to hear someone on the show actually say it.

Cut to a short time later. Nora is in the study with her feet up trying to get away from the crowd. Kitty pokes her head in.

Kitty: What are you doing?
Nora:
Resting and trying to not think about that tent collapsing as a metaphor for my life.

Kitty apologizes for moving out and Nora tells her it’s all right. She’s glad that Kitty is moving in with the Senator. They hug one another and commiserate on the year they’ve had.

Kitty: Its been the worst…and best… year of my life.

Just then, Rebecca pokes her head in.

Nora: Is something wrong?
Rebecca:
I promised I wouldn’t say anything but the army pushed Justin’s report date up. He has to go back early.
Nora:
Where is he now?
Rebecca:
He’s at the airport.

Nora no doubt realizes she never gave her son a chance to say goodbye.

Nora: Oh my god, we have to go find him. We have to go find him now!
