“Brothers & Sisters” Episode 201 Recap: “Home Front”The doorbell rings and Kevin answers to find Jason. Jason: Robert told me the good news, and I thought I’d stop by. Hope that’s all right. The two go out to the backyard and reminisce about their three month relationship (that we didn’t get to see a bit of because it conveniently happened over the summer – grrr.) Kevin likens the summer to the idyllic one Danny and Sandy had in Grease. Jason: Okay, but who’s the Sandy in this relationship? That’s what I wanna know! Kevin says Jason is the Sandy because, since he’s off to help the poor in Malaysia he’s obviously the goodie two shoes here. Jason: Kev, I don’t expect you to wait for me. Arrgh! Kevin’s love interest is going to be gone for up to a year, and he says he’s going to “wait for him?” So much for Kevin’s love life this season. Here’s hoping he strays just a little. Kevin: Besides, what else am I supposed to do? I love you. The two lean in for a kiss.
Well, this is interesting. Kevin used the “L” word with Jason and he never did that with Scotty. Or Chad. Cut to inside where Rebecca has piled a bunch of Krispy Kremes up on a plate and topped them with candles for Kitty to blow out. Everyone sings “Happy Birthday,” sappy toasts are made, and then Nora pulls out a big box. It’s her wedding dress. She was thinking Kitty might like to wear it. Kitty is touched. Uh, just a heads up that Nora got married in the sixties. Not a great time for bridal wear – too many synthetic fabrics. You might be better off with that pouffy-sleeve number, Kitty. I’m just saying. And I think it’s funny that Nora’s presenting the dress to Kitty while Holly is standing right there. I’m half expecting Holly to pull out a big box of her own and hand it to Kitty. “This is the crotchless panty / negligee set I wore on my first night with your father. I thought maybe you’d want to wear it for your honeymoon.” But it’s the thought that counts I guess. For once, the entire family is together and happy. In fact, they are too happy, and you know what that means – something bad is about to happen. Robert gets a call on his cell and his face falls. Kitty notices and her face falls. It’s like a house of face falling cards. Nora notices that something is wrong and McAllister tells her that Justin’s caravan was hit with an IED on its way back to base. McAllister: There were casualties. Cut to later. Nora is upstairs making up Justin’s room. What, does she think he’s going to be home that night? Or maybe she’s searching the room hoping to find Justin’s Vicodin stash. She breaks down in tears and explains to Kitty that she needs to keep busy or else she’ll go mad. Across town at Sarah’s house Joe has heard the news about Justin and has stopped by to check up on Sarah. She wants to talk about their relationship and surprises Joe by asking him to move back in. Joe says they need to talk about that later, when things “have settled down.” But Sarah wants an answer right then and there. From his pained look you can tell he doesn’t want to get back together Sarah: So what does that mean? You want a divorce?
Joe nods his head yes. Submitted by on Mon, 2007-10-01 22:50. |
