"Brothers & Sisters" Episode 205 Recap: “Domestic Issues"Cut to the winery. Tommy calls Lena in to his office and, in so many words, explains he can’t diddle her any more. He’s a married man and doesn’t want to hurt anyone. Anyone meaning you, Lena. Lena puts on a brave face even though you know it’s killing her. She seems to have fallen hard for Tommy.
Lena: Don’t worry about it. We’re fine. She can always compensate for the lost affection by stealing more office supplies. Or maybe the writers plan something darker, such as a Fatal Attraction storyline. The only problem with that is that I can’t imagine Tommy killing a spider, much less his mistress. Holly, however, is a totally different story. She’s the one Lena better watch out for. Cut to Kevin’s law office where Sara and Joe are meeting with their lawyers to hammer out the divorce details. It all looks very amicable: Joe drops any claim to Sarah’s shares in Walker Produce, and Sarah tells him she wants no part of his $46,000 guitar collection. But things take a nasty turn when the subject of child custody comes up. Turns out neither wants the kids. Oh wait, I’m projecting. Actually, Sarah thought they’d agreed on joint custody, but Joe’s lawyer is going to press for primary custody. Sarah is floored and tries to get Joe to explain himself. Kevin tells her to shut up and hustles her out. Cut to Nora in her kitchen. She’s on the phone again with Kitty, who is now in her office bathroom waiting for the results of a pregnancy test. Nora already has a book of baby names open and is reading aloud suggestions. Ainsley? Alika? Hillary? Kidding! Kitty cuts her off. Kitty: Why do these things take so long? Nora: At least you don’t have to go to the doctor and kill a rabbit to find out if you’re pregnant…. Oh for the good old days. At this point Justin pops his head into the kitchen. Justin: Wait, who’s pregnant! Kitty: (on the phone) Mom, was that Justin? Nobody can know about this. Nora quickly shushes Justin and scurries into the pantry to continue her conversation with Kitty. Kitty tells her mom the test is negative and hangs up. But in the little white applicator strip there is a plus sign. Kitty is pregnant.
Cut back to Kevin’s law firm. He has pulled Sarah into his private office to regroup after getting hit with the child custody bombshell. She is flipping out. I bet now she’s wishing she hadn’t dropped her claim to half of Joe’s guitar collection. Sarah thinks the custody demand isn’t Joe — his barracuda lawyer must have put him up to it. Kevin tells her to wise up. Joe’s lawyer is merely fighting for Joe’s interests. Joe really wants full custody.
Sarah is incensed. How could Joe do this to her? When Paige was born they made the decision that he would stay home and care for the kids. It made sense at the time. Sarah: God knows I can bring in five times what he can. I thought he was so progressive. Submitted by on Tue, 2007-10-30 22:33. |
