"Brothers & Sisters" Episode 205 Recap: “Domestic Issues"Sara: Remind me to cut a check for Pro Choice America. I’m going get some wine.
Saul, you just can’t keep a secret can you? Other than your sexual orientation. Kitty smells a rat and forces everyone to admit that Justin spread the word that she was pregnant. Justin blames it on Nora, who “went into the pantry.” Nora: That’s what you get for eavesdropping because Kitty isn’t pregnant. But then Kitty drops her bombshell — she is pregnant. Hurrah. Everyone claps and congratulates her. See, I told you we would have a big moment. Nora is ecstatic but peeved about being the last to know. The doorbell rings again and Rebecca goes to get it. I’m half expecting Holly to show up. Somehow she always manages to crash these big Walker family moments. Kitty wanders in to the kitchen to find Sarah popping the cork on a bottle of Walker Vineyards Pinot Noir. Hey, after last episode I thought after they were going to start packaging their wine in boxes? Sarah congratulates her on the pregnancy, promises to loan her What to Expect When You’re Expecting, and tells her to stay away from all things “seafoody.” No doubt that includes overwrought TV dramas. Kitty asks what she can do for her big sis. Sarah here’s your chance to ask Kitty to go “duck hunting” with Cheney. Alas, she opts for something less tangible. Sarah: Make me not feel like every decision I’ve made in my adult life is wrong, and I’m gonna lose my kids because of it. ![]() That’s a tall order, but Kitty tries her best: Kitty: You are a great mother! Paige is more mature than we were when we were 20 and she’s so frickin’ smart it’s scary. And Cooper! He’s so confident. He walks into a room like he’s going to take over the world and it’s all because of you! I just hope that I can be half as good a mom as you. Cut to the next morning. Nora brings Kitty breakfast in bed and gives her a pep talk about how everything will work out. Nora: Don’t worry about the campaign. Concentrate on what matters. You and Robert are going to have your first child. Cut to the divorce court judge’s chambers. He has called the parties in to say he’s reviewing all their briefs and supporting documentation. ![]() Sarah: Your honor, can I say something? Joe’s lawyer objects, but the judge wants to hear what Sarah has to say. Sarah: I’m a good mother. I know that. I may not be able to drop them at school every day. But I am their mother every day. You can’t punish me for trying to parent and work. I want my kids to know the joy that I get from my work, but it’s nothing compared to the joy I get from being their mother. And they know that.
