"Brothers & Sisters" Episode 207 Recap: “36 Hours”
McAllister hangs up with Kitty, and Travis enters. We’ve been seeing a lot of this character lately so I thought I’d take a moment to mention that he’s played by out actor Denis O’Hare. O’Hare is probably better known for his stage work. Among numerous other awards, he won a 2003 best actor Tony for Take Me Out. This guy really has some acting chops because I’ve seen a few interviews, and he is absolutely nothing like the unctuous character he plays on Brothers & Sisters. Anyway, Travis comes in and tells McAllister there has been a slight screw up with his schedule. Turns out the Senator’s daughter Sophie is flying in for a visit today rather than next week. Oh goody, we haven’t seen that evil little blond, pigtailed girl since last year. To me, she seemed like a dead ringer for Rhoda from The Bad Seed. If we’re lucky, maybe this episode she’ll push somebody down some stairs or something! McAllister wants to cancel all his appointments to spend time with his daughter, but Travis tells him he can’t. He has a one o’clock lunch with the king of pork. Wow. His daughter comes to town and he gets to hobnob with royalty? It really is a banner day for McAllister. Cut to Holly’s house. Rebecca is in the kitchen looking haggard. Merle Haggard, actually. Which is like a 9 on the haggard scale.
Holly notices her daughter’s lassitude and asks if she had a rough night. Rebecca spills the beans about Justin using drugs again. Holly asks what Nora thinks about that, and Rebecca says Nora doesn’t know yet. Holly tells her she has an obligation to tell Nora. This is serious because Justin overdosed last year. Cut to a gas station bathroom. Only, instead of Britney Spears walking out barefoot we have Justin walking in to powwow with some grungy guy in a janitor’s uniform. It’s his drug supplier. The dealer is mad that Justin came and bothered him at work. I’m thinking he must not be much of a drug dealer if he can’t afford to give up his crappy minimum wage day job.
Justin is agitated and tells him he needs his fix right away. The dealer says his stuff isn’t in yet. He’ll call when he has the Oxycodone. Dealer: I have to get back to work now. And don’t follow me out! The dealer leaves Justin lurking in the bathroom until he gets a cell phone call. It’s Rebecca. She wants to have lunch and says she’ll meet him at the mansion at 2:00. She hangs up, the camera pulls back on Rebecca, and we see it’s a gaggle of Walker women. And Holly too — she’s always horning in on these Walker dramas.
