"Brothers & Sisters" Episode 207 Recap: “36 Hours”
See, now if he were the woman in the relationship he could secretly take birth control pills to unilaterally avert a pregnancy. What’s McAllister going to do, get a clandestine vasectomy? Because he really doesn’t want any more kids. Hey, siring the Bad Seed would scare me off of further procreation, too. (Although she was pretty well-behaved this episode, wasn't she? Must take Kitty's presence to bring out the monster in her.) Cut across town to Lena’s studio apartment. Tommy is there breaking the news (for like the third time) that they cannot continue their affair.
Tommy: I can’t do this to my family. I’m sorry if I hurt you. Uh oh, sounds like Lena might hold a grudge. She’s especially ticked that now those opera tickets she bought for Madame Butterfly are going to go to waste. Cut to Kevin’s apartment. He arrives home, beat, and calls out for Scotty who’s not there. Must be at Chez Frou Frou deboning something. Kevin notices a note from Scotty attached to a basket of pastries and fruit. Sweet. And a sign of potential trouble if Jason doesn't call soon. Cut back to the mansion. The sun has set and Nora is out soaking her feet in the pool. Justin trudges out bundled in a blanket. He sits down beside her and they have a great mother/son scene.
Nora: Things have to change, Justin. Between the two of us. They enjoy the night air for a moment, and then Justin decides that after two days of not eating he’s finally hungry. He asks Nora if she’ll make him some oatmeal. She tells him to go make it himself — thus proving that things have indeed changed and from now on she’s going to quit with all the smother-mothering. Yeah, right. So ends another installment of Brothers & Sisters. The show is taking a break next Sunday but will return with a new episode on Sunday, November 25th So what did you think of this episode? Submitted by on Tue, 2007-11-13 22:26. |

I love this show, but the
I love this show, but the Kitty/Robert story continues to be teeth-grindingly bad. It's a story about Fairy Tale Republicans. It's "what if Republicans were really Democrats?" Seriously, I've never met a Republican as civic minded and socially aware as Robert Freaking McAllister, and we're all supposed to believe he stands a credible threat as a contender? Give me a break, in real life the Republican Party would eat him for lunch.
Kitty was written SO much better during the beginning of Season One, where she was an unapologetic conservative. That created so much drama. Now she's just a watered down version of Nora. The whole sequence with her pregnancy was rife with possibilities. They could have shown what a raging group of judgmental hypocrites their party really was, but no they took the easy way out, complete with Kitty condemning those who would judge her for getting pregnant out of wedlock, completely forgetting SHE would likely have been one of those people if it were someone else.
this episode....
this was a pretty well written episode. the only part i was irked about was kitty's baby obsession. even on daytime soaps, they make all these women "baby hungry" and i am trying to figure out what decade we're in. it's like these women have a career, they're strong minded and out of nowhere, they just HAVE to have a baby and start begging their husbands for babies. why? to make their life more complete or something?
children are nice and sweet, yadda yadda....but i want ONE woman in these shows to not want a kid so badly. i truly am not dissing children, but i feel these women are coming out looking pathetic. i probably worded everything horribly...but eh, i tried.
...as for scotty....is he gonna be gone for a while again or will we see him soon???
Senator Pretendican is gonna get good
Do you think straight viewer gets the Kevin/Scotty situation
Why Sally wins...
Oscars and Emmys. The scene where she locks the kitchen door is amazing she does it in just four lines completely surprising us and yet totally in character for Norah.
Insideguy, question
Justin
LOL, I actually thought Dave
Just of out curiosity...
