"Brothers & Sisters" Episode 208 Recap: “Something New”

They hug, She sits and begins blathering on at length about the traffic in LA. She won’t shut up, and it’s clear her nerves have gotten the best of her.

Stan: You look beautiful.
Nora: Don’t look too close. My neck looks like someone’s bedroom curtains.

Buck up, Nora. You could be Joan Rivers. Joan’s old neck probably now is someone’s bedroom curtains.

Nora: Where do we even start?
Stan: How about a pitcher of margaritas?

Hey, afterwards you can do tequila body shots off of each other’s crepe-y necks.

Fade to an hour later. Their margarita pitcher is nearly empty and they have hit some sort of conversational groove. He’s telling her about his experiences as a high school teacher. His anecdote involves something about “mooning the governor.” (I’m sure a lot of California teachers out there can relate.) Anyway, Stan says he spent a night in the clink because of it.

Nora admits that she too has spent a night in jail — For smoking a joint with her friend Emily Kraft (Margot Kidder)

Stan: When did you pick up that habit? You never liked grass.

Nora assures him that it was a one-time thing. She’s been too busy being a wife and mother.

Chevy asks Nora out on a date the next night. She agrees.

Stan: Good because I couldn’t stand to wait another forty years.

Oh, I could. But as long as these two don’t go duck hunting together Nora should be fine.

Cut to Kevin’s apartment. He and Scotty have nodded off on the couch. They are still in their lobster bibs and fast asleep from all the champagne and melted butter. Scotty wakes up and nudges Kevin.

Scotty: You should go to bed. I should get on my air mattress.
Kevin: Probably.

Then in unison they turn to one another and start making out. It would be really hot except they’re still in their lobster bibs.

Okay, but even so, it’s really hot. I think I’m liking this episode.

Cut abruptly to the next morning. Noooooooooo!

We are at a downtown bridal shop with Kitty, Rebecca and Sarah trying on bridesmaid outfits. First up, they have on some orange dresses. Rebecca likes the color but Sarah thinks it makes her look like a giant tangerine. Hey lady, you run a citrus company. Consider it free advertising.
