“Brothers & Sisters” Episode 211 Recap: “Missionary Imposition”

Holly launches into a sort of mistress to mistress pep talk, where she explains how she got trapped in a years-long relationship with William Walker.

Holly: I deluded myself into thinking it was my choice; that I was in control. And for twenty years I let that idea and that man dictate who I was. When I finally realized that I was just filling in the gap for somebody else’s relationship it was too late, and I couldn’t leave. It is better if you figure this out now.
Lena: I hope so.
Holly: Lena, use this opportunity to find something that’s yours.

Oh she already did. Check her bag, Holly. You’ll find what’s now “hers” is the office three-hole punch, the espresso machine and box upon box of paper clips and number two pencils.

Cut to Nora and Mumbles still at dinner. He asks how she’s doing, and she starts yammering on about her kids. He interrupts her and explains that he’s not asking about her kids. He wants to know how “shiss doin”.

Aww that’s shweet. His cell phone rings. Travis needs help with something, but Mumbles tells him not to call back. He’s in the middle of “something important.”

Me, I think he paid Travis to call mid-meal so if things were going south on this date he could plead an emergency and beat a hasty retreat.

Cut to the San Francisco hotel bar where Sarah and Graham are enjoying really froufy drinks. They landed the Golden Prune account so apparently it is appletinis all around. Sarah is clearly in the mood to celebrate, but Graham gets a phone call. Unfortunately, he has dinner plans.

Sarah: What happened to our fun night out on the town?
Graham: I thought our night on the town was off the table.

Well, apparently it is now because a lady named Yvonne shows up and spirits him away. Is it me or is Yvonne a dead ringer for Naomi Judd – before all the Botox and Restylane.

Sarah is left alone at the bar wishing she hadn’t played so hard to get with Graham.

Cut to Kevin’s loft apartment. The disastrous dinner is over and Jason is long gone. Kevin is sulking, his face in a magazine.

Scotty: If you’re not gonna talk about what happened tonight then I’m going out.
Kevin: There’s nothing to talk about. You ambushed my tea party.

They get in a big fight and Scotty storms off in a huff. Why do I get the feeling he’s gonna go meet up with Jason at a leather bar somewhere?

Cut to the Walker Mansion where Tommy has rushed over to tell Justin that Lena tried to kiss him. Okay, it was inappropriate for her to do that, but it’s sort of icky that Tommy feels compelled to tell Justin. It’s like he’s rubbing it in. Justin surprises him by saying he already knows. Lena already came clean herself.
