"Brothers & Sisters" Episode 415 Recap: "A Valued Family"

A decent episode this week, although not very Kevin/Scotty-centric at all, with our boys primarily reduced to offering Valentine's advice to straight doofuses.

And WTF, ABC, with the belated Valentine's Day themed episode? Like this season of Lost isn't enough of a timef*ck, now you have to mess with us more by putting all the holidays on alternate timelines as well?

I certainly hope this doesn't mean the upcoming Purim-themed episode ("Megillah Gorilla" ... in which "Kitty courts the Jewish vote at a festive fundraiser at the Pasadena Zoo") will be similarly delayed. I was really looking forward to that one.

But this episode did give us the term "sexiversary," which I'm officially claiming for the gays. True, it comes up in the context of Kitty and Senator Prettyboy's marriage, which if you're like me, probably makes you puke just a little in your mouth. But I also know how difficult it is for gay couples who can't marry to decide how to commemorate the longevity of a relationship.

So why not celebrate a sexiversary? Or you can do what my partner and I have done, which is make it a floating holiday and celebrate our love for one another on whatever night the Tony Awards fall.

The episode opens with Scotty and Justin together at an art gallery, and I nearly fell off the sofa because it looked like they were out alone and the mind just reels trying to figure out what in the world those two would ever talk about.

But it turns out a whole bunch of Walkers are at the gallery, where a fundraiser is taking place, and all the art work is by anonymous painters so you buy things you like the look of without being caught up in names or worth. Kind of like speed dating, only you're stuck with a lousy etching at the end of the night instead of an STD.

Sarah finds herself very much drawn to this one particular painting, which makes her feel all tingly and itchy and moist. Hmmm, anonymous painters ... painting she's strangely attracted to ... I can't imagine where this could possibly be going, can you?

But who is this, secretly watching Sarah from the gallery's office? None other than French super hottie Luc! Yay, Gilles Marini is back! Already this episode is getting an A, and if he takes his shirt off, A+.
