"Brothers & Sisters" Bonus Recap: The Lost Episode

Cut to the study where Sarah catches up to Kevin to thank him for giving Nora the fifty thousand dollars. Sarah says the company will pay him back. Gosh these people use the company like some sort of personal piggy bank. They’re as bad as the Bluths from Arrested Development. And nearly as funny.

Cut back yet again to Holly’s house. Again. I’m getting really tired of driving all over LA with this recap narrative. Can’t these people just stay in one place for a minute? Saul shows up to comfort Holly, who’s all verklempt about the confrontation with Justin.

Holly: I’m so sorry I called. I just didn’t want to be alone. You don’t want me to disappear do you Saul?

Saul hugs Holly, but I don’t know. I can’t help thinking he’s just not that into her. Wink.

Cut back to the Walker mansion. Nora is out in the garage giving Kitty a tour of the car she just inherited. Bill Walker’s Mercedes is “cherry”. Nora explains it’s just been serviced, has new brakes, new fog lights, etc.

Nora: But it still makes this funny clicking noise that no one can quite figure out.

Hmm. Earlier, didn’t Sarah make some comment about the “engine of the company” not sounding right? Interesting parallel.

Kitty woodenly tells her mother that she and Jonathan broke things off.

Nora: I’m sorry.

Funny, she doesn’t look sorry. I guess I’m not the only one who didn’t like Jonathan.

The show ends with Nora asking Kitty to move in with her. Kitty is skeptical.

Nora: Why not? Our cease fire seems to be holding. As long as we don’t talk about Justin. Or the war. Or gay marriage. Or the death penalty. Or stem cell research….Uh, as long as we just talk about the weather we’ll be fine. And I could use the company.
Kitty: Me too.

Fade to black.

Aw, that was sweet. Now here I thought this was going to be a sub par episode (hence the decision not to air it.) But instead it was actually one of the best ones. Definitely worth checking out the season one DVD for. And hey, it’ll tide you over until the new season starts on Sunday, September 30th. Check back for our weekly Brothers & Sisters recaps here on AfterElton.com.

Thanks for the recap

Thanks for the great recap, Dennis! You are really great at this. I'm buying the DVD sometime next week so really looking forward to watching this episode and all the Kevin goodness!

Thanks Gabriella!

Much appreciated. Hey, I love your avatar -- I've gotten hooked on the Luke and Noah story myself.

Your best recap to date!

Dennis -

You had me in hysterical laughter last night as I read this recap.  You have outdone yourself.  I nearly shorted out my keyboard with tears of laughter.  Holly, Kitty, the letter opener, the car...you were in rare form writing this one!

Thanks for the much needed belly laugh!

Laraine Newman was in a later season 1 episode

Episode 4 or 5, I can't remember exactly. She was still doing makeup.

Thanks Dennis

for doing this recap. I didn't think I'd get to the DVD, so this was a great way to catch up on the lost episode. Great job on the recap, and it also got me more psyched about the new season starting. Also, I always liked Warren and preferred him to Senator Rob. I wonder if there's any way he'd show up for an ep. or two, maybe to make trouble before Kitty ties the knot.

Dennis...you should do this for a living...

Wait...you do! Awesome recap man! I feel like I watched the entire eppy. Well I will as soon as I can get to my rapidly filling up TIVO. You're a good man Charlie Brown! Justin

Thanks Justin, Steven

Hey, Justin -- if you got a kick out of this recap then you really should read Steven's recap of Cruising now up on the main page. He made a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Very funny.
