Project Runway 408 Recap: "En Garde!"

This is absolutely my favorite episode of Project Runway, ever.

First, second only to shoes, I'm all about the hair, and this week, the designers had to come up with a haute couture look inspired by the avant garde hairstyles on their models.

Some of the designers looked scared. Chris March looked ecstatic. Sweet P's brow wrinkled up, and she said, "My mind doesn't go naturally to the avant garde."

Happy or sad with the challenge, all the designers trooped back to the workroom for more details, where the ever-soothing voice of Tim Gunn assured them that the designs didn't have to be practical or even wearable. This was one for the photo shoots, kids.

Then the designers were paired up: Victorya and Jillian, Chris and Christian, Ricky and Kit, Rami and Sweet P. They had to pick one of their two models, and then hit the fabric store and get sewing.
