Project Runway 410 Recap: "Raw Talent"
Confession from your normally very shallow Project Runway recapper: It was pretty hard to follow my all-nighter watching the election results to an all-nighter telling you what I think about who designed a better women's exhibition wrestling costume. That said, I'm a professional, so here I am. And after a few minutes, I got into it. Oh wait, you're all still back at the "women's wrestling" thing, aren't you?
Yeah, before the challenge was announced, Chris mused, "I have thought they might go as far as drag queens." And after taking a look at these ladies (hey, that's what they call themselves!), I'd say the folks at Project Runway went beyond drag queens: to design ring wear for the women of World Wrestling Entertainment.
Tim Gunn introduced the designers to their challenge and the models by leading them into the runway auditorium for a little exposition of their ferocious fighting skills. Rami looked profoundly traumatized, and called it "a train wreck." Chris saw it differently: "These ladies throwing each other, kicking each other, pulling each other's hair – it was pretty great, actually."
