"Project Runway" 6.2 Recap: "Pregnancy Chic"

Warning, spoilers ahead! Read no further if you don't want to know what happened on last night's Project Runway.

Last week Christopher won, Mitchell completely flamed out and sent a nightgown with a high ruffled collar down the runway, and yet somehow it was quirky Ari, that Samantha Ronson lookalike, who got sent packing for her disco soccer ball outfit. A surprising result. I would take a disco soccer ball over an Elizabethan-collared nightgown any day.

This week's episode picks up the next morning in the designer apartments with the obligatory shirtless shot of the hottest male designer (this season it's Logan). In the background, Malvin bites into his Fuji apple.

Everyone is surprised that Ari went home, and Christopher, now that he has a win under his belt, is feeling his oats and holding court. "I'm just happy Mitchell, that you're still here." says a generous Christopher. The unstated addendum to that is, "because everybody thought you were getting the boot."

Says Mitchell in a cutaway, "I think I deserve to be here. I may not have put in the time and the effort that people have over the last couple of years, but in this I am ready to rekindle my dream."

Uh, how does no time, no effort and a desire to "rekindle your dream" translate to "deserve to be here?" It doesn't compute.

They head to the studio to meet with Heidi, who's rocking a leopard print mini dress and high-heeled Ugg boots? Oh Heidi!

Heidi tells them they'll be designing for a supermodel and television star. All the designers think she's referring to herself, but it turns out the multi-threat celebrity is a very pregnant Rebecca Romijn.

Am I just imagining a bit of competitive cattyness between the two former supermodels? Heidi says something about wanting Rebecca to come out in a bikini, and Romijn responds "you wish" through clenched teeth.
