"Project Runway" 6.3 Recap: "Rumble on the Runway"
Oh Mitchell. You're so cute and adorable, and I had such high hopes for you. Sure, you almost got eliminated the first two episodes, but I was positive you'd somehow pull it together. You were definitely giving Christopher a run for his money in stealing my heart, and you played the role of resident flake to the hilt. But let's start at the beginning. With the stench of Malvin's rotten egg completely Febrezed away, Heidi Klum comes out to tell the designers that it's time a little field trip and "no visit to California is complete without going to this destination". So ... they're going to the street corner where Hugh Grant met Divine Brown? Cause that's tops on my list. They're going to design Hooker Chic? Alas, Heidi says "here's a hint, don't forget your sunscreen." Which means they're either visiting the beach, or George Hamilton's solarium. "Designers! I have sand in my thong" The designers hit Santa Monica pier, and see Tim Gunn waiting for them in a blazer, sunglasses and flip-flops. He tells them that they're going to explore "beach and surf wear", which has" transitioned from sea and sand to the street". For this challenge they have to create a fun and fashionable surfwear look, and will be helped by the folks at Garnier (who is represented by Phillip Carrion* ... which probably explains the vultures circling), who will create the perfect beach hairstyle for the models. Now comes the most important part - Tim informs them that for this challenge, they'll be working in teams of two. This is not going to end well. *His last name is actually spelled Carreon, but that wouldn't work with my vulture joke Submitted by on Fri, 2009-09-04 10:47. |
