"Project Runway" 7.02 Recap: "The Fashion Farm"

In case you missed last week’s recap, I’ll give you a quick recap of the recap: For the past few seasons, several friends have gathered at our apartment in Brooklyn, aka The Park Slope Party, to watch Project Runway, and (despite being disgruntled over last season’s trip to Hollywood), have resumed once again.

Tonight’s Viewing Party Members (VPM) include: myself, an actor-turned author, my housemate, Dan, an actor/playwright (his first play, Daddy, opens next week Thursday in NYC; see daddytheplay for more info), Jason, a pharmacology writer/photographer, who surprised us all by bringing along his beau of the past several months, Todd, affectionately known as “The Architect.” Also in attendance is former Broadway Baby, Andrew, all the way in from Manhattan.

New to this season’s mix is Jay, a former lawyer-turned-writer, and the married couple I mentioned last week, Saskia and Scott, both actors. (FYI, straight Scott just finished a successful run of the new gay play Loaded where he starred opposite the super-sexy Kevin Spirtas.) Unfortunately, Nick and Adam couldn’t be with us, and neither could my partner, Craig, who is out of town on business.

Moving on to the Runway!

Tonight’s show begins with Jesus (aka Japanese Animé cutie) complaining about being in the Bottom Three last week. He believes the key is to be "more creative." We’ll see how that works out in about forty-two minutes! VPM Saskia on Jesus: "They have to give him subtitles?"

Off to Parsons we go to meet with Heidi. She informs the designers that they’re taking a field trip to a place that is "a little out there." The designers speculate as to where they’re going. One of the women wonders, "The moon?" (I was looking down to write so I didn’t see which one.)

So where do they end up? On a farm in the middle of nowhere, where they discover Tim Gunn and their models dressed in burlap sacks. VPM Todd: "It sucks to be a model."
