"Project Runway" 7.05 Recap: "Run For Cover"

Tonight’s Project Runway opens, as per usual, with the designers waking up in their respective apartments. Over at the guys’ pad, there’s one less in bed with last week’s departure of Jesus Estrada. While the women ready themselves for today’s challenge, Mila worries that the others aren’t happy she came in second last week (behind Amy), after winning the week before. Something tells me we’re going to see a lot of Mila (not to be confused with Maya) tonight!

At the runway meeting with Heidi, the designers learn they will be creating a “picture perfect” look as this week’s challenge. Next they are whisked off to the Hearst building where they are greeted by Tim Gunn and Joanna Coles, Editor-in-Chief of Marie Claire magazine. Tim announces that this challenge is the "biggest in Project Runway history" and that the winning look will be worn in the April 2010 issue of Marie Claire by none other than Heidi Klum herself.

Needless to say, the designers are psyched! One key to tonight’s challenge (which I never gave much consideration) is to remember that the outfit will be cropped in the shot (most likely seen from the waist up) and there will be words all over the page surrounding it. Something to keep in mind when creating the look.

There’s a lot of Anthony and (for what seems like the first time) Ben in tonight’s episode, which is nice. Up until now, I feel like I really haven’t seen much from Mr. Chmura. Anthony begins by letting us know his goal: to create a look that is form fitted, and "short, but not slutty."

As Ben sketches on his HP electronic sketch pad-thingie (I thought they’d given up on those), he says that he plans to "focus on color" (as the camera focuses on the HP logo. I know, it’s all about product endorsement, but it still bothers me!)
