"Ugly Betty" (4.5) Recap: "Plus None"There was plenty of "good" in this episode, including some meaty scenes (finally) for Claire, who's caught in mid-embrace with Cal by Daniel. It was also a great episode for Amanda fans, as her crush on Betty's Matt continued to grow. Matt invites her to be his "plus one" at the big shindig at Willi's place, and she thinks it's her big chance to land him. She's actually cognizant of Betty's feelings, though, and turns to Marc for advice. After a typically Amanda-esque ploy (she tries to get Betty a date to the party by placing an ad on Craigslist), she arrives at the party to find out that Matt definitely needs to take a class on "how to invite a single woman to a party without implying romantic intentions". In a moment of well-intentioned but completely inept generosity, Matt invited six "plus ones", because he didn't want the "support staff" to feel left out. Ouch! All in all, it was a solid episode, and poses some interesting questions going forward. What is Natalie up to, and will she continue to dress like Magda from There's Something About Mary? Claire makes a phone call to try and find out what happened to the baby boy she gave up. How soon until we see him on the show? Who should play him? I'm thinking Danny Pintauro. What will happen now that we know that Nico is not the victim she claims to be? I can't wait to see Wilhelmina go fully ballistic. What did you think of this week's episode? Intrigued by the new developments, or do you still think they're "meh?" Submitted by on Mon, 2009-11-09 09:03. |
