by Dennis Ayers

Cut to moments later, when a jubilant Kevin hails Tommy and Sarah and tells them he has a line on a place for them to crash for the night.

Sarah: Incredible. We come to an Army bar, and Kevin gets laid.
Kevin: Well, not yet but I am working on it.

In the background, you see Kevin's potential trick smiling salaciously.

Cut to the Walker Mansion. Kitty is in the kitchen eating ice cream from the container.

Nora enters and interprets Kitty's binge eating to mean her daughter has done something wrong. Kitty confides to Nora that she tried to bribe the Senator to help Justin.

This prompts Nora to make her own admission. Nora believes she is responsible for Justin's decision to enter the Army.

Nora: He was about to change his mind and I pushed him the other way. And I blamed it on you. I was too angry and scared to blame it on myself.
Justin: (Who has been eavesdropping.) You're both crazy. I enlisted because I wanted to. It was the best and worst decision I've made in my entire life, but you know what? It was my choice. So I'm not gonna fight the recall. I'm going back.

Oh really, Justin? Why the sudden turnaround? Last week you were buying a fake passport for a run to Mexico , and then you OD'ed. Now you're just sucking it up and accepting your fate? What gives?

Cut to the Nevada road trip. Sarah, Kevin and Tommy are still in their rental car out in the middle of nowhere. They've finally found the parcel of land their father paid $15 million dollars for. It's in the middle of nowhere. They get out of the car. Sarah and Tommy look hung over. Kevin looks like he's completely forgotten about Scotty. Those military guys must be really good at night maneuvers.

Sarah: I feel like Nick Nolte's mug shot.
Kevin: That's what happens when you do Jell-O shooters with enlisted men.
Tommy: If we're not as chipper as you are Kev, it's because you didn't sleep on the floor.
Kevin: That's right, Tommy. I certainly did not.

You know what this means? This means gay Kevin is the only Walker family member to get laid this episode. And to a hot enlisted man, no less. I just wish we'd seen more of the soldier. We didn't even catch his name. I have a sinking suspicion Kevin didn't catch his name either.

Tommy surveys the property. It doesn't look like much. Sarah and Kevin are all for getting back in the car and heading home. They can at least sell the land and get back $1.2 million. Tommy's not ready to leave. He can't understand why Papa Bill would have invested in this property. Sarah doesn't understand Tommy's continued high opinion of their father. She gets just mad enough to let it slip that Bill Walker had an illegitimate child with Holly. Kevin wants to talk about it, but Sarah refuses to say anything more about half-sister Rebecca.

Tommy changes the subject and mentions that there is a bank in a nearby town. They can get cash there to pay for the BMW's repair bill.

Cut to the set of Red White & Blue. The show is just about to go live. Kitty asks the moderator, Simon, if she can introduce her taped segment with Senator McAllister. I so know what's coming next.

Kitty: In the interview that you are about to see, I asked Senator McAllister about his stem cell bill, his position on Iraq, and his aspiration towards higher executive office. What I didn't ask him about was his recent divorce. I wish I could say that was because of some high-minded notion of journalistic integrity. But it was just the opposite.

Wow. Kitty is making a full confession on live TV. Her journalistic reputation will be shot, but ratings should go through the roof!

Kitty (cont.): I have a brother who served in Afghanistan and was recently called back to serve in Iraq . And I did the Senator a favor in the hope that he would do me one and use his influence to keep my brother home. To keep him from fighting in a war that I have defended on this very program. Senator McAllister rightly refused to help me. His integrity remains intact. But mine, however, less so.

Doesn't Kitty realize that by coming clean like this, she's actually hurting Justin? All this publicity makes it impossible for the Senator (or any other public official for that matter) to privately pull strings on her behalf and get Justin out of the Army.

Kitty (cont.): I made a mistake in compromising the interview that you are about to see. And I made a mistake in continuing to defend a war that is in desperate need of re-examination. Re-examination which cannot come until we acknowledge that the war itself was a mistake.

The show goes to the taped interview and Kitty retreats to her dressing room. On her way she passes that little turncoat, Amber.

Kitty: You were right to say something.

Ahem. No, she was not. If Amber had concerns, she should have come to you first, Kitty. You should've put the little backstabbing minx in her place when you had the chance. Instead, you've given her carte blanche to go over your head whenever she wants. Next time she has dirt on you she won't think twice about ratting you out to the boss.

Cut to Sarah, Kevin and Tommy inside the rural Nevada bank. Tommy gets the bright idea that maybe Dad got his loan for the Nevada property through this local bank. Tommy asks a bank officer if they have a record of Bill Walker as a customer. The bank officer says no account or mortgage, but Bill Walker did keep a safe deposit box. Kevin calls his office to have his power of attorney and his dad's death certificate faxed over so they can access the safe deposit box.
