Brothers & Sisters Recaps: Week 16 (page 2)
by Dennis Ayers Page 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 - Next Cut to Ojai Foods. Sarah is taking a call from Kitty, who wants her to go on a double date. Sarah doesn't think that's such a good idea considering how icy things are between her and house-husband Joe lately. But Kitty begs and pleads. Kitty: It'll be fun. Besides, I already told Robert that you would come. Sarah: Oh, it's “Robert” now? Kitty: Well I have seen the birthmark on his butt, so we're on a first name basis. Sarah reluctantly agrees to the double date and hangs up. Saul enters. Saul: We have a problem. It's your sister. Sarah: But I just got off the phone with her. Saul: Not Kitty. Cut to a short time later. Sarah, Saul, Tommy and Kevin are having a powwow to discuss the Rebecca situation. Sarah and Saul are amazed that Tommy ran into Rebecca at Holly's house (last episode) and neglected to tell them. They get on to the main issue: Do they come clean about Rebecca to Momma Nora, Kitty and Justin? (Which seems like a no-brainer to me after the first part of the season). Uncle Saul is all for it, but Sarah is adamant about keeping it a secret. She doesn't want to upset Nora and reminds everyone that Justin is just out of rehab. And we all know how well keeping secrets has worked for the Walkers up until now. Sarah: Nobody will find out if we don't tell them. Holly's lied to Rebecca her whole life. Saul: Come on. Haven't we learned anything this year? Apparently not. Saul gets outvoted and everyone agrees to keep Rebecca a secret. Cut to the Walker mansion. Tyler is in her bathrobe at the kitchen island. Making herself at home, I see. Nora is telling Tyler about Justin's first attempt at a moustache—a single, long hair on his chin and fuzz over his lip à la Fu Manchu.
Justin is embarrassed. Gosh, I hope this doesn't send him into to a downward spiral that has him falling off the wagon. Justin: Is there anything else you wanna bring up? How about my acne or that piano tie I wore to the senior prom. Tyler: Oh, my god. You were the guy in the piano tie. Uh no. That would be me. But I digress. Justin leans over and kisses Tyler on the cheek. He's surprised that she so brazenly came down for breakfast in a robe just like some common slattern. This is his mother's house after all. Justin: (whispering) I thought we were going be discreet. You're not dressed. Tyler: Well, I'm not naked. Nora overhears them. Nora: Justin, You don't need to be uncomfortable. Really. Tyler is welcome to stay over any time she likes. You two are old enough to do anything you want. Just stay safe. Anything? Just “stay safe?” Oh, I really do feel sorry for Justin. His mom is practically dispensing condoms and dental dams. I'm hardly surprised though. A few episodes ago she was advising Kitty to go buy a vibrator. Nora excuses herself, and Justin and Tyler make nice. Justin: You must have really won her over because she doesn't just dig up those embarrassing stories for anyone. Tyler: Well, you can get even tonight. Apparently, Tyler and Justin are having dinner with Tyler's parents. Tyler thinks it will go swimmingly. Justin is not so sure. Justin: They're meeting their only daughter's recovering addict boyfriend. Tyler: They're gonna love you. Justin: I hope so. Hmm, just what kind of guys has Tyler dated in the past anyway? |
