Brothers & Sisters Recaps: Week 11 (page 3)
by Dennis Ayers Page 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 - Next Cut back to Promises Malibu where eldest sibling Sarah has come to visit Justin. She tells him about the big fight between Kevin and Kitty.
So, what, is McAllister a war hero for making blueberry pancakes at a military base? What did he do, burn his hand on the griddle and get a purple heart? But I digress. Sarah says she's staying out of the fight between Kevin and Kitty. She has her hands full with the family business. Through a peculiar twist of fate their dead father's mistress, Holly, is now one of Ojai Foods' largest stockholders.
Speak for yourself, Sarah. I for one, can't wait to see what outfit Patricia Wettig will be working this episode. You gotta admit she wears some pretty outlandish get-ups. Cut to Ojai Foods parking lot. Holly drives up in a bright and shiny new luxury sedan. She's flush with cash now that the company has bought out her interest in Bill Walker's land trust for five million in cash and a boatload of company stock. Clearly, now she's living large and reveling in it. Don't you just hate the nouveau riche? So crass. Holly steps out of the car wearing some sort of flouncy knit ensemble, which looks uncannily like my grandmother's afghan shawl worn as a poncho. But damn, Patricia Wettig's working the thing, and as she enters the building she receives what sound like cat-calls from the loading dock workers.
Cut to moments later inside , where Holly is meeting with Sarah, Tommy, and Uncle Saul. She says she wants to become actively involved in the company now that she's a major shareholder. She even wants an office! Sarah does a spit take at that and practically laughs in Holly's face. Holly is undaunted. She coolly mentions she might sell her stock to one of Ojai Foods major business competitors. That gets Sarah's attention.
Well no, Holly not in that crocheted getup your wearing. Still there's the implicit threat that Holly might actually sell her stock to a business competitor. Sarah caves.
Cut to Promises Malibu. Momma Nora has come to visit Justin. Gosh, it's quite a revolving door they have there. People seem to be dropping in on Justin willy-nilly.
Justin innocently mentions the latest news that Holly will be working at Ojai Foods. Uh oh, it's the first Nora's heard of this. She can't believe that Sarah and Saul would agree to that and presses Justin for more details. Justin just throws up his hands in disgust. He's trying to deal with his own substance abuse issues these days not mediate squabbles amongst his family. Justin mumbles something about being late for his arts and crafts class and beats a hasty retreat. My guess? He's off to sculpt a new bong. |
