Brothers & Sisters Recaps: Week 11 (page 4)
by Dennis Ayers Page 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 - Next Cut to Ojai Foods. Nora has stormed in to confront Sarah and Uncle Saul about their decision to let Holly come work for the company. They try to explain they had no choice, that Holly had them over a barrel. Nora then shocks everyone by demanding her own office. Oh, this is going to be good. I'm virtually salivating over the thought of all the potential sabre-toothed catfights between Holly and Kitty in the hallowed halls of Ojai Foods. Saul and Sarah try to talk Nora out of it, but she is not to be dissuaded.
After she's gone, Saul and Sarah whine and moan about the twin terrors that are Holly and Nora. How can they hope to avert disaster with these two ladies terrorizing the workplace?
Cut to the next morning Ojai Foods. Holly arrives. She's smiling like a Cheshire cat as she strides in to what she thinks will be her personal office. But when she opens the door she finds Nora already in residence, setting out potted plants, Post-It note pads, and generally arranging her side of a shared desk blotter. So that's what Sarah meant by giving the ladies “enough rope”: She's arranged for Holly and Nora to share an office. Talk about awkward. Cut to later in the morning. Holly has now set up her side of the shared desk, and she seems to have thrown herself into work with gusto. Holly's on the executive fast track: already fielding calls with vendors and setting up important meetings. Meanwhile, Nora seems reduced to fetching coffee. Her big idea for the morning? Starting a coffee fund. You have to feel a little sorry for the old gal. She's out of her depth. Cut to later in Sarah's office. Nora has gone in to complain that she doesn't have any meaningful work to keep her busy. Sarah tells Tommy to find a project for her. He looks glum. Nothing appropriate springs to mind. Finally, he asks Nora if she knows how to create invoices for the shipping department. Sounds like a snooze to me, but Nora says she'll learn. Cut to later at Sarah's house. Daughter Paige is in the kitchen together with that floppy-haired teenage stepson, Gabe. The boy seems to be working Dorothy Hammill's bowl-cut hairdo of 1976. (Um, perhaps I'm dating myself a bit there.) Anyway, the boy is doing something suspicious near the kitchen counter as Sarah enters with grocery bags. She asks him to take the trashcans out, but Gabe seems reluctant about leaving the kitchen. What is this kid up to?
He leaves and Sarah notices an empty vodka bottle on the kitchen counter.
Paige doesn't want to rat her half-brother out but, obviously, Gabe took it. That, or Paige has developed a taste for appletinis. Sarah sends Paige off to her room. When Gabe comes back in she confronts him.
She should check his hair. Honestly, that kid could hide an entire liquor cabinet under those bangs.
He hands her a thermos filled with the missing vodka. Sarah goes to the sink and pours it out. What a waste. Gabe apologizes to Sarah and begs her not tell his dad, Joe. Sarah is inscrutable. No telling what she plans to do. Cut to the Walker Mansion. Kitty walks into the dining room to find Kevin with a lot of books and papers spread out in front of him. He's compiled some research on McCallister's voting record and demands that Kitty take a look at it.
Kitty agrees to at least consider Kevin's concerns. He's surprised.
Um, perhaps they're familiar with your work on Ally McBeal? |
