Cut back to Sarah Walker's house. Joe is manning the video camera while Sarah tries to deliver her testimonial for Nora's birthday tape. She's having a hard time with it. After several failed takes, Joe notices her cleavage and somehow the two get on the subject of making a sex tape right there on the couch. Sarah is concerned that he's using the Nora testimonial tape to film it, but Joe assures he changed the cartridge. The two go at it hot and heavy on the couch while the camera rolls.

Joe: You said that you wanted to have more fun. This would be fun.

Sarah: If this ends up on the internet….

Joe: We'll make millions.

Oh, please. Joe and Sarah are hardly in the same league as Pam and Tommy Lee. Still, if sister Kitty can become a YouTube star , I guess anything's possible.

Cut to the next day at the Walker Mansion. The doorbell rings and Nora answers it. Who should be perched on the front step? None other than a silver-haired Mrs. Cunningham! (Marion Ross from Happy Days.)

Nora: Mother, what are you doing here?

Ida: It's your birthday honey, what do you think I'm doing here?

Nora: Actually my birthday was two days ago. You're a little late.

Ida: Late? The party is not until tonight.

Uh oh, Grandma Ida's just arrived and she's already stirring up trouble. Is it just me or does this character take actual glee in spoiling Nora's surprise party?

Brief aside, but while it's great to see Marion Ross again, I'm finding it hard to buy her as Sally Field's mother. If Nora is 60 (and Uncle Saul a few years older) how old would that make Ross's character? At least 85. Marion Ross simply doesn't look that old. In real life she's 78 and, frankly, she doesn't even look that old. Of course, poor Sally Field had to play Tom Hanks' mother in Forrest Gump and she's only ten years older than him. Looks like Marion is getting off easy in comparison.

But I digress. Anyway, it looks like Ida plans to stay at the Walker mansion. Nora is far from happy about her unannounced guest. I think she might even prefer home-wrecker Holly (Patricia Wettig) dropping by over Ida.

Cut to a few hours later. Uncle Saul has stopped by the Walker mansion and Nora pulls him away to privately complain about the surprise party and, more particularly, about his inviting Ida.

Nora: Why is that woman here?

Saul: She's here because she loves you.

Nora: She never even came to my husband's funeral. What kind of mother is that?

Um, the kind of mother that gets written onto the show after twelve episodes? Saul and Nora re-enter the kitchen where Ida is fidgeting dismissively with the many cooking appliances: cuisinart, hand held blender, etc.

Ida: You have so many fancy gadgets here. Do you even use half this stuff?

Nora: I like to cook Mom.

Ida: It's not cooking when you use all this stuff. It's cheating.

Oh, this woman is insufferable. I think I love her.

Cut to the next morning at Sarah Walker's house. Joe is in the kitchen and Sarah walks in, still in her pajamas. She has a full day of party cooking ahead of her, but she may not be up to the task. Joe notices that his wife looks a bit green about the gills.

Joe: Hon? You okay?

Sarah: I'm cooking for 40 people. I do not have time to get sick.

She better make time. She races off to the bathroom to heave. Uh oh, things are heading south for Nora Walker's 60 th birthday party, and fast! Who on earth could have seen this coming?

Cut to Kevin's apartment. Kevin is madly getting dressed while participating in a family conference call. Sarah is breaking the news that she's down with the flu and they'll have to manage the party without her. Kevin is frantic because it means that much of the work is now on him. That's not going to leave a lot of time to carry on his torrid text-message relationship with Chad, is it?
