TV ROUNDUP
Another bad week for gay men on reality TV: boyfriends Lynn and Alex were eliminated from The Amazing Race (CBS) and Anwar Robinson was voted off American Idol (Fox) But what really freaked us out was the obnoxious gay couple on Showdog Moms and Dads (Bravo) acting all nice for a change.

On scripted television, gay-ish teen Andrew sunk to new lows on Desperate Housewives (ABC) and gay P.I. Chris Didion continued to investigate on Eyes (ABC). On Wednesday, USA aired the premiere of Ring of Fire: The Emile Griffith Story, a well-reviewed film that debuted at Sundance in January, about one boxer who killed another boxer in 1962 after he taunted him with gay slurs.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Will and Grace may yet live another to air another season: NBC is reportedly very close to finalizing a deal for the show to return for another season.

MOVIE ROUNDUP
Out actor Ian McKellen (Lord of the Rings, X2) has been cast in the big-screen adaptation of the bestselling book The Da Vinci Code, which stars Tom Hanks in the lead role as a man searching for the Holy Grail.

The Cannes Film Festival announced their lineup for this year's festival, which begins on May 11, and openly gay director Gus Van Sant's latest film Last Days made the cut. Brokeback Mountain, unsurprisingly did not.

TIME FOR A CHANGE
Time magazine recently announced its 100 Most Influential People of 2005, and a gay guy named Marc Cherry made the list. I think it has to do with some kind of TV show he created for ABC called Desperate Housewives--have you heard of it? Yeah, me neither, but you know how those crazy kids at Time like to push the envelope.

That's it for this week! Check back next Friday for a new installment of Best. Gay. Week. Ever.
