TV ROUNDUP
Gay Dan from The Real World: Miami was eliminated from The Inferno 2 this week, Brian disrupted Michael's suburban life on Queer as Folk, David and Keith decided to pursue parenting on Six Feet Under, and the Queer Eye guys made over the Red Sox.

DVD ROUNDUP
This week, Be Cool, and indie gay romance Straight Jacket were both released on DVD. Next week, we have the release of the third season of the popular 90s TV show Northern Exposure, with its gay inkeepers, as well as the indie movies Brother to Brother, A Dirty Shame, and The Nomi Song.

JESSE BRADFORD: HETEROSEXUALLY REAFFIRMED AMERICAN
Jesse Bradford (Swimfan, Bring it On) tells the New York Daily News that taking on a gay role in the upcoming movie Heights helped him realize that he was neither homophobic nor gay. The actor turned down one of the gay roles in the movie The Rules of Attraction a few years earlier, and “there was always this voice in the back of my mind saying, ‘Did you turn that movie down because you were scared to play a homosexual?’ And reading this script [for Heights], and knowing right away that I wanted to do it, was kind of a nice vindication for me, to be like, ‘OK, I wasn’t scared.’” Bradford went on to say that it was also "one of the most heterosexually reaffirming moments of my life. Like, ‘Oh, that’s why I don’t like this. That’s why I always figured I wouldn’t like this.’ Now I know. Now I know for sure.”

TONY AWARDS
Lots of gay winners at the 59th Annual Tony awards this week, including two acceptance speech thank-yous to gay partners, and a win for La Cage aux Folles for Best Revival of a Musical. Unfortunately, the win couldn't save the latter--the latest version of the popular musical about a drag queen and his partner--from the fact that it has been playing to only 39% capacity. The producers announced this week that its last performance will be on June 26th.

LAMMIES
The 17th Annual Lambda Literary Awards were held in New York this week, and among the gay winners were David Sedaris (for Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim), Blair Mastbaum (for Clay's Way), Colm Toibin (for The Master), and Steve Kluger (for Almost Like Being in Love).

FRAMELINE
Frameline29, the San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival, kicks off next week with a screening of gay romantic comedy Cote D'Azure. This year's lineup features some promising gay films, including the story of a young gay drifter in Loggerheads, the gay superhero movie Surge of Power, and the Sundance hit Happy Endings.

NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT
British celebrity magazine Star has reportedly apologized for suggesting in a recent issue that British pop singer Robbie Williams had told all about his female conquests in his autobiography, he was keeping his homosexual encounters secret." We now accept that Mr. Williams was never involved in any incidents of this kind and that these allegations are untrue," the tabloid stated.

On this side of the pond, radio shock jock Don Imus reportedly issued an on-air apology this week for a comment made by one of his now-ex sidekicks implying that actor Tom Cruise is gay. "The other day Sid [Rosenberg] said something about Tom Cruise being a homo," Imus said, "Sid meant it as a joke. We know that Tom is not gay."

That's it for this week! Check back next Friday for a new installment of Best. Gay. Week. Ever.
