AND I'LL VOW NOT TO WRITE ANOTHER WORD UNTIL I CAN GET MARRIED
John StamosThe A&E Network has finally set an airdate for their upcoming television movie Wedding Wars. Starring John Stamos (Full House), James Brolin (The Reagans), Sean Maher (Firefly), and Bonnie Sommerville (The O.C.), Wedding Wars is a flick I first mentioned last summer. But in case you're new or have forgotten, I'll nutshell the premise for you. John Stamos plays a gay party planner (naturally) whose brother is getting married to the daughter of a conservative governor (for whom the brother also happens to work). When Stamos finds out the governor is giving a speech against same-sex marriage, he refuses to plan his brother's wedding thereby setting off a nationwide strike by gays and lesbians for full marriage equality. (Given all the revelations about Congress of late, I assume this means the Republican Party on the Hill will all but cease functioning.)

How will the movie handle the topic? Well, it's television so I'm not expecting a whole lot of nuance. And I'm slightly troubled by the “credited cast” listing over at IMDb.com which includes Fabulous Drag Queen #1 and #2. Oy. But the executive producers are the openly gay Craig Zadan (Chicago) and Neil Merron (It's All Relative) so how bad could it be, right? Right ?

Wedding Wars will air December 11 th at 9 PM.

A BROMANCE? EWWWW.....
Matthew McConaughey and Lance ArmstrongIn case you wondered if Matthew McConaughey and Lance Armstrong were actually gay, the answer is no. Personally, I wasn't wondering about it, but Details magazine did and asked Lance in a recent interview. Lance explained how he and Matthew bonded when their relationships went belly-up, but that bonding wasn't a euphemism for being a “faggot” as Isaiah Washington might put it. Said Lance, “We tried it. Wasn't for us.” No indignant denials. No macho bluster. Just a nope and then a cute joke making it clear the idea of two dudes doing it didn't freak Lance out. Give that man another yellow jersey!

GRANT SHOW GETS DIRTY
You can add Grant Show to the list of former Melrose Place alum's who are getting a second wind in their careers as did Doug Savant and Marcia Cross. But this time it's Grant playing gay. (Savant played the gay Matt Fielding on Melrose Place. Unfortunately, back then there was no cure for “gay eunuch” disease so Matt was barely gay. But I digress.)

Michael Ausiello reported this week that Show has been added to the cast of Courtney Cox's new FX series Dirt. Show will reportedly play a closeted A-List actor who is also a member of Scientology. Hmm, not being terribly subtle are they? Ausiello says Show's character isn't modeled on anyone with the initials T.C. so you can draw your own conclusions about who it's based on. Frankly, I think it shows a lack of imagination on the part of the writers. I've seen and heard more than enough about this topic. There's a million different gay storylines in this big crazy world. How about telling one that isn't about a closeted actor, a drag queen, or a teen-age hustler?

AMERICAN IDOL RUNNER-UP COMES OUT!
No, it's not Clay Aiken. It's R.J. Helton. Yeah, I didn't remember him either.
