FOR YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE
Well, I'm not sure I'd call this first one a viewing “pleasure,” but Friday night's Larry King Live will feature the families of those on United 93 (opening today). Appearing on the show will be both Alice Hoagland, Mark Bingham's mother, as well as Cheyenne Jackson, the openly gay actor who portrays Mark in the movie. I spoke to Alice at length on Thursday about Mark and the movie. Alice struck me as a remarkable person cut from the same cloth as Judy Shepherd. Both are women who suffered unspeakable tragedy and not only survived it, but transcended it with a determination to make the world a better place. I'll have the interview next week.

After watching Larry chat with Alice and Cheyenne, take a break and come back at 11 PM to catch HBO's Bill Maher hang with openly gay Massachusetts' Rep. Barney Frank. The unbelievably smart, always acerbic Mr. Frank is well worth your time.

And after that, you might want to check out Jimmy Kimmel's show, as he's going to have Joseph Gannascoli from HBO's The Sopranos on. In case you've been in a coma the past month, Joseph plays gay Vito who's on the run from his fellow mobsters. Joseph and Jimmy hit some gay clubs in West Hollywood where the boys do body shots off Joseph. Now that's quality television.

Less worth your time, IMHO, is FOX's Family Guy. Sunday nights episode involves same-sex marriage and the previews make it sound like it's gonna be progressive, but I'm suspicious.

Gay Dave survived yet another day on Top Chef with Tiffani matching him step for step. Last week's task was to do the dinner for a gay couple's commitment ceremony. Hmm, does it seem like Bravo's knows the gays are watching their network? Next week the gang is off to Napa.

Over on Unan1mous, Jameson got voted biggest liar and most deserving of the money. Maybe somebody should run for President. Naturally, another cliff-hanger had to come along before a winner was declared.

On Will & Grace last night, Will buried his dad, and Bobby Cannavale turned up to comfort him. Hmmm, wonder where that will go? Must...not...get...snarky....We're down to three more W&G episodes, including Bernadette Peters upcoming appearance (as Karen's sister) on the 11th.

My DVR went all wonky this week and I didn't get to see anything that happened on General Hospital or As the World Turns with the gay Lukes. But if I had to hazard a guess, I'd say Ben Hogestyn on GH is probably wandering around the studio begging someone to pay attention to him. As for Luke on ATWT, he probably almost told his dad he was gay on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Tuesday and Thursday he just thanked his lucky stars he wasn't Ben!

Sunday night brings us two interesting HBO shows. As you know if you read our brand-new interview with Joseph Gannascoli, The Sopranos is promising some big Vito twist and turns as the big lug continues to avoid getting whacked for being a ‘mo. And Big Love had some very curious goings on with not one, but two different characters. Is one of them gay? Both? Here's hoping it's not the knife-wielding nut picking up guys. Vito is about as complicated as I like my gay boys on television!

Now I'll shut up so you can have the BEST.GAY.WEEK.EVER!

That's it for this week! Check back next Friday for a new installment of Best. Gay. Week. Ever., or read previous installments here.
